Huma raising money from worried supporters after Clinton’s diagnosis

Huma Abedin is using supporters’ concern over Hillary Clinton’s illness — to help raise dough for her boss’s presidential campaign.

“I cannot thank you enough for the outpouring of support that Hillary got from this team. So many of you have written in with your best wishes for her, and it means so much to her to know she has you in her corner,” writes Abedin, Clinton’s closest aide, in an email to supporters Tuesday night.

Abedin, the vice chair of Hillary for America, continues: “That’s why I’m writing today to ask for a favor: Will you chip in right now to say loudly and proudly that you stand with Hillary — and get a free sticker while you’re at it?”

And it’s not about the money, Abedin insists: “It’s about showing her you’re on her side when she needs you the most Clinton has been off the campaign trail since Sunday, when she left a 9/11 memorial event early and collapsed as she stumbled into a Secret Service van. Clinton’s campaign later revealed she had been diagnosed with pneumonia.

“Hillary will get back on the trail as soon as she can, but in the mean time, she needs all of us to do our part,” writes Abedin.

“We’ve got huge moments coming up — the first debate is in less than two weeks — and right now, all you need to do is say that you’re ready to stand and fight by Hillary’s side.”
