    Is This Illegal?

This "bilingual job fair" in the state of LA is saying "native speakers preferred"-isn't that like (in a reverse scenario) saying not only must a person speak perfect English, but they must have been born here and be of a particular race to qualify for the job? Time to "bug" the company(ies) involved here....for those of us who are stuck and can't move out of a Spanish-language-dominated area, and have been forced to learn their language, they could STILL descriminate against you for the color of your skin and where you were born...and how many jobs do you have where you are not on and off the phone, which only involve taking orders-why is it necessary that you have to act culturally-and look like-these people in order to get a job, in addition to the indignation of having to speak their language? Time to sue, sue, sue-before this evil idea spreads to ALL "bilingual required" positions!!!!

    " Is This Illegal?"
Hell, does it even matter when it comes to "BI" ANYTHING ANYMORE!!??
From what I gather the laws only apply to those that do their damnd'st to follow them. Otherwise your just a poor oppressed victim of racially profiling bigot's. Then you don't need to sue. Just reap rewards of monies
respect and compassion from some tax payer funded organization.
Unless there is ENGLISH ONLY Legislation.. NO it is Not illegal........
Does not mean you can't complain though.....

The companies hosting this job fair would still be required to hire people with legal authorization to work here---unless, perhaps, they were to be hired by an out of country branch. In this case it would be someone who has legally migrated here, or, arguably, grown up in a Spanish speaking area.

I mean, doesn't this go against "Equal Opportunity Employer" laws? You know, no descrimination against race or country of origin?

One would think so but if you ever read court cases regarding such you'd see such laws ONLY apply when its used against white people preferably white men. There have been many cases filed and lost from white people filing suit on unfair labor practices for employers wanting to hire specific sex, race, and age but each one gets thrown out. I've personally seen men applying for waiter jobs try and sue a resteraunt who openly admits they ONLY want female wait staff... judge tossed it out. The same case also went to appeal with a new twist as the same employer (a Chinese Resteraunt btw with great food) also ONLY wanted to hire Asian women.... the resteraunt won also with the case being tossed out. I've seen Hispanic owned companies ONLY hire hispanics and turn down other applicants because of race...

I've seen it all and all I see is that these laws only apply to go against the white community rather then real fairness.
