Illegal Immigration fuels Ca. Republican race

Please watch video for more political spin....
FRESNO, California (KFSN) -- Steve Poizner hopes to win the Republican nomination by painting Meg Whitman as soft on illegal immigration.

In a line from his latest TV ad Poizner said, "Meg Whitman opposes Arizona's immigration law."

But, Political Scientist and author David Provost says Whitman is hardly a liberal on illegal immigration.

"Whitman's position on immigration, Poizner's saying that's terrible but it's the same position taken by George W. Bush and John McCain. It was a Republican sponsored proposal."

Whitman responded with a radio ad, in which she gets former Governor Pete Wilson, known for his anti-illegal-immigration views, to endorse her. In the ad Wilson said, "Meg will be tough as nails on illegal immigration."

Anti immigration rhetoric may have helped Poizner's surge in the polls but ABC 30 Legal and Political Analyst Tony Capozzi believes it may have more to do with the fact Poizner's finally responding to Whitman's massive ad campaign. "The big issue is money is being spent by Poizner and he's attacking Whitman," said Capozzi.

But the fact both campaigns are using illegal immigrants to gain votes is troubling to immigration activist Stan Santos. "It's exploiting all that misery and injustice just to see who can come out ahead in some opinion polls and in the end it's the people of California who lose because it's going to create an environment of extremism," said Santos.

Focusing on illegal immigration may play well in the primaries and in the Central Valley, but come November, Provost says either Republican could be seen as too extreme for most California voters.

David Provost said, "Nixon's admonition long ago that you run to the right in the primary and run to the center in the general is going to be harder to do this time, because they've taken positions so far to the right that they are now on record."

Uuuh really? Isn't that why Democrats support illegal immigration, to come out on top with all those illegal votes supporting illegal activity committed by illegal aliens?

Supporting the rule of law that protects Americas from all the misery and injustice of illegal immigration is not exploitation, it's standing up for the rights, immunities and privileges of US citizens and the national sovereignty of the United States.

Why any vote would vote against that is something they'll have to reconcile at some point before their Judgment Day.

Meg Whitman is a big time Green Czar kind of gal.

She loves Van Jones (you know the communist) and I heard one of her top "campaign" managers speak - and the more she said the more people in the audience were shocked and NOT in a good way.

She is a big bail out gal - and loves her H1B Visas.

In fact there is just so much wrong with what she wants to do that I will vote NO on her big time - without the illegal alien issue.

She is such a big time Progressive Republican that she makes Arnold look conservative.

She really should have run on the Democrat ticket.

I am an Independent California voter and will be asking for the Republican ballot in the June Primary, just so I can vote against Meg Whitman.

The only "environment of extremism" I see happening here is that illegals have been allowed to get away with breaking OUR laws and usurping OUR sovereignty for so long that they now feel they are entitled to be treated as citizens and are making threats of violence against American citizens if they don't get what they want.

They have no rights here and no rights to gather in mobs in our streets to wave the Mexican flag and protest OUR government, OUR laws and make demands upon the citizens of this country to finance their illegal presence here and pay for their educations, medical treatments and violent acts against citizens, which includes having the audacity to drive unlicensed on our roads, DRUNK!

Illegal immigration over all has caused a lot of "misery and injustices" to be perpetrated upon hard working, law abiding, tax paying American citizens by the government of Mexico and by our own Federal government who refuses to uphold the laws of this land and it's Constitution by stopping this blatant invasion and occupation of the USA by Mexico!!!! It's time for ALL border states to step up and stand up and put a stop to illegal immigration and to PROTECT their citizens from the onslaught of illegals trapsing thru their states to invade the heart of America if the Feds won't!!

This is straight from Meg Whitman's website...

A New California is about the diversity that makes us strong and passion that makes us powerful. It's about what we want for ourselves and each other and our state. As Californians, we are all in this together.
This is a quote from Meg Whitman's website. Looks like she wants to call an all out invasion of over 1 million illegal alien Hispanics into California, "diversity" instead of an atrocity. Here we go again with the semantics game. Looks as though she's counting them as Californians and in the same boat with citizens. We wouldn't be in this boat if we had dumped the illegals overboard off the ship a long time ago and gained our state back! I just don't believe Whitman or Poizner are being honest about their illegal immigration stance. They both seem to be talking out of both sides of their mouths and seem capable of pulling a "DOBBS" (as in Lou Dobbs's turn around from illegal immigration) on us at the last minute if we go with either one of them.

And in a surprise move, the incredibly liberal San Francisco Chronicle -- with its history of support for illegal immigrants -- actuall endorsed Poizner! GO POIZNER!

The other race of note: pencil-kneck geek, Mayor Gavin Newsome, that fatuous, rich-boy brat pretty boy -- yeah him, the guy who turned San Fancisco into a sanctuary city, and then had to explain why illegals were murdering S.F. citizens in broad daylight -- is running for lieutenant governor in the Nov election also. We've got to nip this traitor's political career right here. Flush him down the toilet where he belongs.

This is interesting. I just heard Meg Whitman's latest radio ad where she comes out strongly against amnesty. Even has the endorsement of former Governor Pete Wilson (the driving force behind Proposition 187). Whats weird is, she had had a pro amnesty position until now. Guess she looked at her polls and figured out which way the wind is blowing. OUR way.

No I think Whitman defines amnesty narrowly, so if there are any conditions, it is not in her book, amnesty. This is the same position being pushed by Palin, McCain, the GOP elite, and Beck and O'Reilly and Pelosi and the rest of the Democrats.
Take a stand or all there will be left to do is to ask the last person in the country we once called America to lower the flag one last time.
