THIS worker was an ILLEGAL, yet HE was making $1200 a WEEK and TAX-FREE at that! I thought that US employers were GENERALLY speaking, GREEDY folks! (TOO bad that NO AMERICAN or LEGAL resident can find THAT kind of work deal!)

It sounds like he started his own company----paying illegals. He was an illegal---so he was able to skirt around the licenses, insurance, taxes, etc.----that are required of US citizens in the same type of business.

If the guy was sub-contracting then the employer usually has to pick up the taxes and the workers comp. At least that is how it works here in NC. I'm sure the contractor still made money too.

It obvious to see these politicians and business owners are nothing more than greedy crooks! I own a contracting company and growth has been reversed since 2001. I'll go under before I hire illegals or work for someone that does.

Are we going to sit by and discuss the issues while our country is jerked out from under us without so much as an effort to stop the crooks?
Talking doesn't stop crooks, thats why they make jails and if nobody is going to put the crook politician and employer in jail, then we must remove (even by force) the ones in charge.

If you are in charge, then you are in charge whether good or bad things happen. To countinue to let the crime go on means your a criminal yourself, an aider and abettor. As long as these political scumbags fear no bodily harm this will not stop. Just as Hillary did her flip flop (lied) on drivers license for illegals any politician can say one thing and then do another without consiquence. Who's going to stop them? They know they can spin it for 10 more years while it just keeps going on and on. What kind of politicians do this type thing? Dictators and traitors! Last I heard traitors got a good old fashioned lynching and that pretty much nipped 99.99999% of traitor action in the bud! As long as the top (BUSH) is corrupt it is up to the ultimate athourity to take matters into their own hands. That ultimate athourity is The American People! We must unite and let the traitors know, we mean business.

Of course the traitors know this, that people will eventually get tired of working like slaves for nothing and we'll get really tired of seeing America run into the ground by a bunch of greedy traitors.
Thats why they can up with homeland security, so they find about any such group wanting to end the criminal enterprise of the government and corporate elite. They attacked the communication lines of the people to stop any Militia to save America from the crooks. Thats why people have not already stormed the White House, they know they would be arrested before they even left home. This is tyranny, communism, socialism and a dictatorship all rolled up into one.

One thing is for sure,
If any president or political politician wanted freedom and democrocy, they would be wanting a national referrendum on illegal immigration. They know where Americans stand and thats why they don't want one.

I THINK THE BIG QUESTION FOR THESE PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES SHOULD BE ........ARE YOU GOING TO GIVE AMERICANS A REFERRENDUM ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION AND IMMIGRATION?

There it is attrition through enforcement at work!! Proof it works, we need this all across the country!! NOW! We will settle for nothing less.

Contracting is, IMO, a sleazy business. Before the IA crisis there was plenty of tax evasion and unemployment compensation fraud going on, at least where I live. People also did a lot of stupid things and got away with it--at least if you were used to getting your way. That is in part why some companies started using illegal labor. They were about ready to go broke due to incompetence.

On the last two jobs I have been on, there have been so many illegals you are almost tripping over them. Nobody--employers, contractors, or employees, except me-- seems to give a hoot. The pushy and greedy seem to always get their way. I've tried to make complaints to ICE, with no results. I am going to make a last ditch effort to go to ICE with some really big complaints. Everyone is so sleazy they just accept more sleaziness as normal. I know there are exceptions where people try to do right, but I am referring to the general trend, as I see it. The big contractor running our present multimillion dollar job doesn't seem to be batting an eye at the IA'a present here.

I have one brother who is a contractor, and has also taken jobs with others (he regularly has trouble getting his moeny out of the other contractors), and he will not work with anyone who hires illegals. He said he has been going to job sites and seeing less and less illegal aliens (whom he believes are). As well another two brothers just stated today they have been seeing an exodus out of Oregon in their towns.

Hope they are right about that, though I have to say, we have been seeing it within our complex, but also lost our inside informer in that too. The kid who regularly kept us up to date on all the goings on, his family left in the darkness of night. They too had talked about going back to Mexico.

Loneprotestor, I do hope and pray we can all work towards getting back yours, and millions of other Americans livelyhoods back. Even though my husband is not in the construction undustry, I do believe illegal immigration has also affected the amount of income he would potentially be able to make if wages were not so depressed.

Like I told you guys, this is not rare. Landscapers in Atlanta are making $13-$22 per hour, and they were unskilled and terrible. They are not paying taxes.

They are "Contract Employees" and considered self-employed. They are supposed to be responsible for their own taxes, etc.

Those illegals in roofing, consstruction, painting, and day laborers are NOT working for minimum wage. They are making a lot of money in the USA.

There might be a few day laborers that are the bottom of the food chain that make $12.00 per hour, but I want you to show some of them to me. They want overtime, lunch and transportation.

The women in these illegal families, don't have to work, and are busy having anchor babies, and collecting any freebies they can get, and they are getting plenty.

Many of these families are making enough money to buy houses here.

bootsalinda, how nice a house would be right now. However, I do believe that up here, they are having a more tough time making ends meet.

Last year I talked about how I was seeing them sopping up all of the donated freebies they could get their hands on, and I was seeing some of them coming in with carloads full of food and gifts, most of which appeared to be donated goods, some bought stuff from Walmart. This year has been silent, and we have seen a lot of of them moving away, according to some sources, going back to Mexico, some back to Callifornia (sorry to all of you Californians). Christmas is nowhere near as busy as I have seen it the entire time we have lived here.

$1200 a week would be great! My dh is a firefighter/paramedic spent years in school to get his degree and doesn't make anything close to $1200 a week (actually he makes about that in two weeks.) must be nice and I would bet my life that they were getting social services on the side. I think it is very interesting that here in AZ all the car dealerships seem to cater to the illegals probably because they are the only ones that can afford a new car right now in this struggling economy. When ever I drive by a dealership all the signs are in spanish and they all seem to be driving really nice cars.
