Thread: ILLEGALS and sales tax

While listening to a conservative talk radio show, a female caller made an enlightening statement.

"The ILLEGALS claim they are paying taxes because they buy and pay sales tax. IF I GO TO MEXICO, I pay 15% sales tax on my purchases. IF I tried to use this excuse to make demands on the Mexican government, I would be expelled from the country!"

Great point! I am so sick of hearing about how they pay taxes. This is just insane!

Well, we know that Mexico doesn't treat anyone as well as we do - not even its own people.

But that is a good point - and one that should be used often.

No matter what sales tax they pay - it doesn't cover their expenses. We Americans pay a lot more taxes than sales tax to pay for these people's upkeep.

The fact is, it wouldn't matter to me if they paid 3 times as much taxes as the most taxed person in this country - it is ruining our country.

We can't put a price on the sovereigny of this country. I guess our politicians have - but I can't.

How true this is. Anyone who believes illegals are legally paying taxes is a fool. Yes, they do pay sales tax on consumption, but what they pay into the tax coffers pales in comparison to what they take out in social services.
Fact: Illegals cannot legally pay state and federal income tax. If they are, they are using false documentation to do so. The only way for legal immigrants to pay taxes is with the TIN number. Of course, only legal immigrants get these numbers.

Even if the illegals are on a payroll they claim EXEMPT or 9 DEPENDANTS therefore ZERO WITHHOLDING.

I have seen it first hand, and yes I did something about it.

I get sick and tired of hearing that they pay taxes. Buying a 6-pack of beer, does not pay for education, health benefits, police, fire and other emergency services. ARE THEY TOO STUPID TO REALIZE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MERE SALES TAX, AND WHAT WORKING AMERICANS PAY INTO THE SYSTEM?

The cost of doing business in California is steep. I just helped start a new company and it amazes me how much tax goes out - I knew about the unemployment tax, disability tax, sales tax, federal and state income tax, licensing fees, permit fees, but there's also a retraining tax and most importantly, a CORPORATE tax that runs about 9%! (Some states also have an inventory tax). That's not counting worker's comp and health benefits, which we can't afford yet because of all the other taxes. Honestly, around 30% of our "profits" go to city, county, state and federal coffers to run this country. SALES TAX is your "contribution"? Give me a break! Sales tax is not nearly enough to support this infrastructure (police, fire, hospitals, roads, water, communications, WELFARE, etc.) Only an ignorant thief would make this claim. I like the idea of a flat tax more and more. Illegals and everyone else would contribute their fair share, instead of milking the system that was set up by responsible businesses and taxpayers.

A Flat Tax will not help much, most of the illegals I have seen are paid under the table.

Next time I hear some clown spew "I pay tax" I'll have to see your tax return before I believe you. comprende 1040? no?

What ILLEGALS pay in TAXES is NOTHING compared to the DRAIN they are on OUR system!

I not happy about how any of our taxes are used by our government...Illegals pay very little taxes compared to how much they suck off from the system... Most illegal aliens are on some sort of social program paid for by Americans...I just wrote a big check for my property tax so I can send an illegal alien child to school for free, so when they grow up they can join some racist group like Mecha and La Raza who will convince them America was stolen from Mexico!
