    Illinois opportunity for 2008

The people of Illinois have a golden opportunity to provide a new direction for our state. We have a pro-illegal alien governor, state representatives, state and federal senators, and Chicago mayor. We can send them a message that we need to serve the legal citizens of our state before spending $2 billion on the illegals.

Our state govenment is in complete disarray and we have the opportunity in 2008 to replace all the state representatives and a third of our state senators. We need citizens of Illinois who want to "CLEAN THE HOUSES". Contact
ipil2005@yahoo.com to become involved in the effort. The time to act is now!

Any state or local government that have officials that are pro-illegal need to clean house. The numbers of illegals that are paying taxes is low, many of them have cash jobs whic they don't pay taxes on. Most them cost the communities more than they will ever pay. Bush and crowd said we need to be fair to illegals how about being fair to Americans. Doesn't seem like many politicans care about that.

Welcome Dans! That sounds like a good idea. It's time to send the leaders of Chicago and IL a new message and get them out of office.
Maybe then, elvira can finally be deported!

I'm all for that! Years ago Jim Oberweis was running for governor and felt very strongy about this issue. A man ahead of his time -probably cost him the election I was told. Where is he now?!

Ahh, I just looked him up. He is running again. Here is one candidate for Illinois. Read what he did about illegal immigration, to illustrate it. I can see William doing this!

James D. Oberweis, popularly known as Jim Oberweis, is an Illinois politician, businessman and investment manager. He is most notable as a Chicago area dairy magnate, owner of Oberweis Dairy in North Aurora, Illinois. Oberweis campaigned for the Republican nomination for a U.S. Senate seat from Illinois unsuccessfully in 2002 and 2004, and campaigned for the Republican nomination for Governor of Illinois unsuccessfully in 2006. In July 2007, Oberweis filed paperwork to run for the U.S. House of Representatives from Illinois' 14th District, currently occupied by Dennis Hastert. Hastert is not expected to seek re-election.

Oberweis ran twice for his state party's nomination for the United States Senate in 2002 and 2004. Despite endorsements from the sitting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dennis Hastert, Oberweis was unsuccessful in both races.

Due to his surprisingly strong second-place finish in the 2004 primary, many of the party faithful lobbied heavily for Oberweis to get the nomination when primary winner Jack Ryan dropped out due to scandalous material found in his divorce records. The path would have been clear if not for Oberweis' strong stance against illegal immigration — a stand he claimed was supported by a clear majority of the American public. Others thought he went too far, particularly in a television commercial where he flew in a helicopter over Chicago's Soldier Field, and claimed enough illegal immigrants came into America in a week (10,000 a day) to fill that facility.[1] The stadium seats 61,500 people.

While his anti-immigration values and ads had won him support among his state party's base, others were outraged and even picketed his business. The state party later claimed that the national party became concerned that they would cultivate an image of xenophobia at a time when President George W. Bush was heavily courting Latino voters. However, nearly half of Latino voters favored more restrictive immigration policies and the GOP was dependent upon major donors that profited from liberal immigration policies so it is plausible there was a fundamentally different political calculation involved.
