    obbop, that was neat.

Try garage sales and thrift shops. Also, some antique malls will have vintage, made in the USA small appliances.

Crazybird, I share your concern. Of course, I am another old fogey who has been concerned about this for the past 3 decades.

To this end, we have a small piece of land and have worked very hard to try to get a mini-farm going so our grandchildren will have food to eat. It has been a lot of more work than I remember years ago when our children were small and we raised our food. It seems to be going well, if God will cooperate and send a little rain our way.

The thing that really concerns me here in Texas is water. There is something really strange going on regarding underground water. They have decided you can't drill a well without a permit. I have never heard of one being denied - but what' the purpose - maybe knowing who has water of their own????

Also, there was some talk about putting meters on private wells.

I was told the state of Texas has passed a law that all u nderground water belongs to the state. All this in the name of conservation, but I suspect it is so the people in power then can make sweet deals to the water companies. It is big business. Around the world, many poor people have absolutely had their drinking water supplies sold out from under them to global corporations.

There was a recent article that one of the Halliburton subsidiaries was negogiating for the underground water in Iraq.

Just think about big business actually have control of the very water you drink. It is scary.

Don't get me started on the way global corporations have been allowed to patent the indigenous plants around the world. American corporations got patents on thousands of the plants in the country of India. This means you don't grow these plants unless you purchase your seeds from the big companies.

That was also one of the rules put in place in Iraq. The farmers were told they could no longer save their seeds or purchase from street vendors. They had to buy their seeds from corporations.

    Scary stuff going on.

that is exactly what they are doing

quote="Mamie"]these 'corporate citizens' apparently have dual citizenship. In my opinion, any 'corporate citizen' of this country that exports itself to a foreign country for cheap slave labor should be restricted from laundering their goods back to the United States OR pay a severe import tax that would offset the windfall -- eventually they will learn it's cheaper to stay home[/quote]

I know the U.N. wants America destroyed, yet they cry to us for more money, and our soldiers when they want help somewhere in the world.

I am tired of America being the door mat for the world. All the laid off Americans, where the jobs were shipped overseas, why aren't they standing up and yelling ?

If these illegals and their supporters get their way, they are already talking about changing our system to socialism, these rich elitists and business owners will eventually get hurt.....some of those protesters signs read: "We will make the business owner share the wealth".

They are stabbing the wrong people, (Americans), in the back!

So, I propose American's stop purchasing products made elsewhere, show Bill Gates, Michael Dell, GM and Ford we can do without them, since they feel they can do without American workers.

And now that this is vacation time, everytime you call for reservations somewhere, ask them if they have illegals working for them....see what tone of voice they use .... if you feel they are using illegals, tell them you won't be staying there.

We are making the foreign elite rich, and they will turn on us eventually, China is already beefing up their military.

President Fox is using us like a host to parasites.
Do not vote for Party this year, vote for America and American workers!
