Obama Admin & Media Make Claim Of Hitler: Children Don’t Belong to Their Parents

In a recent piece I wrote concerning the Romeike family who gained asylum in the U.S. because of persecution in Germany and have now come under persecution of the Obama administration. In the Obama DOJ’s push they seem to think that children don’t belong to their parents and thus don’t have a right to educate their children as they see fit. We had Hillary Clinton years ago claiming that It Takes a Villageand now we have MSNBC liberal village idiot Melissa Harris-Perry claiming that our children don’t belong to us as “a reward from God” as Scripture teaches, but rather they belong to the community. None of this is new, just like the atheists who claim they are free thinkers is new. It’s all come before. What’s interesting is that the leaders of the Third Reich Adolph Hitler beat them to it back in 1933.

Harris-Perry, who probably has no idea what her own daughter actually does all day or with whom since she is a career oriented woman that apparently thinks part of that career is to tell you your kids are not yours and not a home oriented woman, in the video above declares:

“We have never invested as much in public education as we should have because we’ve always had a private notion of children, your kid is yours and totally your responsibility. We haven’t had a very collective notion of these are our children.

“So part of it is we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents or kids belong to their families and recognize that kids belong to whole communities.
“Once it’s everybody’s responsibility and not just the household’s we start making better investments.”

There is much I could do to completely demolish here argument about “investing” in public education. The first thing that comes to mind is look at how much money is pumped into the public education system and yet look at the results. Statists looking to indoctrinate children don’t produce results that benefit society at all. They are a miserable failure, but they are too proud to admit it and scrap the entire thing, just like they do with all welfare programs and yes, the Federal government’s involvement is a welfare program. I pay for other people’s children’s education and then I also pay for my own.

But it’s more than that. This psychosis of people like Ms. Harris-Perry, Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton and the like are nothing new. They believe they know what is best and that we, “the little people” in their eyes, need to listen to them. But they are providing us with nothing new.

Gary Demar, in a recent article at Godfather Politics cites Adolph Hitler’s objective as he came to power:

“When an opponent declares, ‘I will not come over to your side,’ [Hitler] said in a speech on November 6, 1933, “I calmly say, ‘Your child belongs to us already. . . . What are you? You will pass on. Your descendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing else but this new community.’” And on May 1, 1937, [Hitler] declared, “This new Reich will give its youth to no one, but will itself take youth and give to youth its own education and its own upbringing.”

Adolf Hitler had banned home schooling in 1938 and the law was never repealed. What’s even more interesting is something I found at the German Way blog:

Many English-language blog and newspaper attacks on the German homeschooling ban like to blame it all on Hitler and the Nazis. While it is true that the Third Reich passed such laws in 1938 (and added criminal penalties), they were only an extension of education laws that have been around since 1871. (Prussia was also the first country in the world to require state certification of teachers, and was offering free, compulsory elementary education as early as the 18th century.) In 1919, the Weimar Republic re-introduced compulsory school attendance (allgemeine Schulpflicht). When the Federal Republic of Germany was created in 1949, the compulsory attendance idea made its way into Article 7 of the Grundgesetz (constitution). In September 2006, the European Court of Human Rights upheld the German ban on homeschooling, in a religious-freedom case that began in 2003. The European court argued that parents can’t use religion to justify homeschooling in Germany. (Under German law, parents can decide whether or not their offspring will receive the religious instruction offered in German schools.)

What about U.S. military families and homeschooling? That appears to be a gray area. For military folks under SOFA (Status of Forces Agreement), most people claim that German law does not apply. However, even the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) has not always supported homeschooling. A 1989 directive said children of military families were expected to attend the DoD dependent schools. More recent DoD directives have allowed homeschooling. But anyone living in Germany who does not fall under SOFA is subject to German law.
See? Nothing new. Even our own DoD expected children to attend state sponsored schools.

The problem is that when the statists control your children, they will inevitably control you, if they haven’t already. They will turn your children against you. This is not paranoia, it is fact when you look at the history of communist countries and how they get the children to spy on their parents and report back to government teachers.

They do this as an outright attack on the family, which is the primary institution in society and God established it as its own jurisdiction. By way of education, the family determines how it will educate their children. Many homeschoolers reference Deuteronomy 6 as a command to do so. It reads:

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. “You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. “You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. “You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.”

It is the parent’s duty and responsibility to train up their children in the way they should go so that when they are old they will not depart from it, not the state. A passage we read as soon as our children are born, and that I’m looking forward to reading to our child about to be born, is Psalm 127 and 128. There we read:

Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

Notice that children are not a curse, a problem, or an inconvenience. They are a heritage or more commonly understood as “possession, portion, inheritance, or reward.” They are gifts from God and they are not to be taken lightly, but treasured and nurtured in the fear of the Lord. To trim it all down to the skinny, they are ours, not the community and not property of the state.

But look further. The Scriptures also tell us that they are like arrows in the hands of a mighty man and the man who has his quiver full is blessed. Why? Because a man with man children has the opportunity to impact the world long after he has passed off the scene and the Socialists and the Communists know this. This is why they strike at the heart of society to take it over. They strike at the family and look to steal the children from those God graciously gave them to. That’s right, our government and our media is scared of us believing that our children belong to us.

They fear our numbers in large families like the Pharaoh feared the children of Israel as they grew in number in Egypt, even though they had made no threats to him or the nation.

My friends, the mentality that says that children are a part of the community and that they don’t belong to their parents comes from those who are in rebellion against God. We must stand, call them out and declare that our children are gifts from Heaven and that we are entrusted with them for a short time in order that we might aim them at the world to advance the Kingdom of Jesus Christ and promote the Christian faith. If we fail to do this, we will reap what we have sown and judgment will come upon our own homes. Our children do not belong to the community or to the state. They belong to their parents!
