Sessions will make one heroic last attempt on E-Verify this evening -- He needs your phone call
URGENT, THIS AFTERNOON
NumbersUSA's Capitol Hill Team has just told me that Sen. Sessions will likely use a procedural tactic this evening to stall the Stimulus Bill enough to perhaps gain a vote on his E-Verify amendment.
Here is all that you need to know:
No. 1: Phone your two Senators at 202-224-3121 or look up their direct phone number at www.numbersusa.com/myMembers.
No. 2: Tell them that they may have one more chance this evening to correct a terrible flaw in the Stimulus Bill and that you expect them to help Sen. Sessions bring the E-Verify amendment to a vote.
No. 3: Make it clear that unless the E-Verify amendment comes up for a vote, you will hold the Senator responsible for ensuring that hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens will get Stimulus jobs and hundreds of thousands of Americans will be left jobless as a result.
No. 4: If you are met with an argument, note that under current enforcement, one of every seven construction jobs goes to an illegal alien. Unless the Senate passes the Sessions amendment -- which already was approved by the House -- one in seven of the Stimulus jobs will go to an illegal alien instead of an unemployed American.
There is no room for delay. If you can, you must call immediately.
Stay on the phone for only a short time to allow other people to call.
Thanks,
