Who in the hell in America can sue on Monday and get a 13 page ruling opinion on Tuesday?
I smell a rat.

Most of us here figured some activist POS judge would block this ordinance. But this is only the first step in one of many to come. This judge will be overturned by others that follow the constitution not some anti-american playbook.
The folks in Hazleton were ready for this and they have a hell of a good legal team backing them up. This judge's decision was bought and paid for by the open border/Anti-American folks, the judges further up the ladder are much more solid.
We just have to fight the good fight and wait for the outcome. In the meantime we also need to remove, when at all possible, judges like this one and the politicians that think like him.

ALIPAC Note: This battle is not over. We do wonder how the ACLU received a 13 page opinion and ruling in their favor less than 24 hours after filing suit. If you are angry when you hear this news, channel that anger into the elections. We must keep our supporters focused on the elections.

Controversial Hazelton Law Put on Hold
A lawsuit by the Pennsylvania affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the Puerto Rican Legal Defense Fund has halted the enforcement of the "Illegal Immigration Relief Act" (Ordinance No. 2006-10) in the town of Hazelton, Pennsylvania.
The ordinance, among other things, would have punished employers, landlords, and businesses that employ, rent to, or sell products to immigrants who are considered "illegal."
Employers found in violation could lose their city licenses for up to 2 years. The controversial ordinance, which was enacted in July, would otherwise have taken effect on September 11, 2006.
The ACLU lawsuit asked the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania (sitting in Scranton) to declare the ordinance unconstitutional and to halt its enforcement. In response to the filing of the case, the city stated its intention to replace the controversial ordinance with another version. In light of that intention, the city and the ACLU entered into a settlement in which the city agreed not to enforce the ordinance for at least 20 days after the date that the city either enacts a replacement ordinance or announces its intention to enforce the original ordinance.
A replacement ordinance, currently being drafted, would reportedly rely on the federal government to verify individuals' immigration status and give employers time to correct violations before the imposition of sanctions. Any licenses suspended under the law would be restored once compliance was verified.
According to media reports, Hazelton, a former coal mining town northwest of Philadelphia, has experienced an influx of Hispanic immigrants in the past few years, which, according to Mayor Louis Barletta, has overcrowded schools and hospitals and increased crime. The ordinance was passed in the wake of two shootings, which involved allegedly illegal immigrants, in the spring of 2006.
The city's action is one of many across the country proposed or enacted by localities that are frustrated with Congress's inability or unwillingness to enact immigration reform.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Its not over til its over. I still have faith Hazelton will prevail. And if nothing else, the Mayor got some of the Illegals to slither away without even enforcing the law.
