Just WHO messed it up for "Native Americans?"
I ended up in a brief conversation with a man who was incensed that I wanted less immigration - especially illegal - and he replied he's here legally so why the attitude? I had to leave before I got angry because he followed that with the usual - you are in immigrant too! Your ancestors came from Europe and stole this land - go back home. You have no right to claim it! Only they do!
OK, where to begin. First off, those "native Americans" also immigrated. They did not grow here out of the ground like corn. So they are immigrants too - just as EVERY country outside of Africa can say the same. So now being born into a country is still immigration - I'm not "native?"? I hear this flawed logic all the time.
Granted, the native Americans he speaks of may not have committed genocide to be here. Who did? Last night I was watching the history channel. It was the story of Columbus and various conquistadors - Spanish invaders. They decimated the population through violence and disease in search of riches. They carried this destruction all the way to Mexico. Later European settlers, non-Spanish, intermarried with the Indians and strove to create commerce. So WHO should be feeling the guilt here?? I'm really sick of the "white guilt trip" - has EVERYONE in La Raza, etc forgotten it was the Spanish who killed off the natives?
I mean, what does "native" mean anymore? Why am I an outsider and he's not?

This kind of talk is just silliness.
We are in the here and now and we need to deal with what is happening now.
I do not feel guilt about anything. The only guilt I feel is that I wasn't able to convince others what was going on with the illegal movement and all the other incrouchments on our freedom. It wasn't from lack of trying - just didn't have the ability to get the message across.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Great point.
If you study anthropology.... all of the native Americans walked across the Bering Strait. Thousands of years of migration happened and many went as far as Peru and Argentina. The Spaniards and English and others came across by boat. Who is really native? No one.

Why do we have to prove anything to them? We can just show them the door (and it will be us that has to do this). In this situation, right makes might and vice versa. We The People want it that way.
We are NOT a nation of immigrants!

When we were in AZ, we visited some of the cliff dwellings and heard a lot about the 'old people'. Also they were doing still another DNA research project and found a lot of similarities in the Asian DNA and the SW American Indian DNA.

That person you were talking with forgets he came here because it is a wonderful country. That did not happen by accident. It came about through blood, sweat and tears from those of us who can trace our immigration to this country from before the revolutionary war.
We have a constitution that is the envy of the world.Sadly recent immigrants do not understand nor have the deep regard for what has been sacrificed to bring about the freedoms we and THEY enjoy.Instead they want to change it and destroy our rule of law we must live by if we are to remain the great nation we are today."A Government big enough to give you everything you want,is strong enough to take everything you have"* Thomas Jefferson

Yeah Trixie - I bet they are distant relatives to the Asians. During the Ice Age, people could walk across the Bering Strait. Then of course the ice melted.
Anthropologist think that no one lived here for 1,000s of years before the Native Americans (what we called them) walked across the Strait
I get so tired of hearing them say that this is their land.

That is one of the things that needs to be addressed when we think of future legal immigration.
I have posted this before and it was just a movie, but the statement impressed me.
A SA dictator was talking to an American doctor. The country was having a revolution against the dictator and the doctor had decided the revolutionaries were in the right.
The dictator told the doctor that people had to be educated into democracy, that they couldn't just be given it and expect them to understand. (I'm paraphrasing here.)
He said, "In America, if you post a sign that says '20 miles per hour' - most everyone will try to comply.
In my country, if you post such a sign, they will spit on the sign, run over it with their cars, and speed on down the highway."Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Immigrant=A person who leaves one country to settle permanently in another.you are in immigrant too!
If you were born here than you're a native, obviously he's not! :P
The very idea of land belonging to only one race of people is racist. So anyone who isn't "the race" leave or die? I'm tired of these racist disowning their white heritage and claiming America's land by race.. What a joke...Your ancestors came from Europe and stole this land - go back home. You have no right to claim it!

About 40% of native born Americans have some "Native American" blood. I am one of them. Me and many others prefer the term American Indan. Those who want to be PC should use the term First Americans, as they were 99% of the population living here when that German map maker named the Continent North America. Also because they call their tribes "First Nations".
What happened between the American Indians and later European settlers is between those two groups only, it has absolutely nothing to do with the current immigration debate.
I said that once to a goon at a protest, then told him I was part American Indian. He said "you don't look indigenous". I replied "so what, you don't look like a Mexican Indian". It's true, most Mexicans are mixed just like 40% of Americans are, only about 10% are full blood Mexican Indian.
Also these open border manianics overlook that the Indians displaced earlier settlers, some of them from Europe who I call Cimmerians.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
