I've noticed that Rep. Lamar Smith (R-TX), a strong ally of ours, has written several excellent articles and letters recently against illegal immigration.

Lamar Smith's articles linked to in Populist's post above comprise the best series that I've ever seen. Without any name calling, he debunks the arguments made by pro illegal alien groups that illegals don't lower wages for entry workers and that they vote for Democrats because the 'Crats promise amnesty.

Well worth reading.

Populist, just did send a letter to Smith's Austin office praising his advocacy of protecting American jobs and expressing a hope that he has larger political ambitions.

I like very much that he can do good research and present his findings in understandable language and also that he's not an Open Borders Republican. If there's any hope for defeating 'Bama and the 'Crats in the next general election, that hope resides in finding someone who can represent traditional American values and a belief that it's Americans first in this magnificent country.
