these organizations are getting desperate. a sign of desperation. they know AMericans as a whole are fed up. their continuous protests ignites more more more fuel to support AZ's SB1070.

I would like to thank you for posting your article about The National Hispanic Media Coalition and their request of the FCC to investigate a link between hate speech and hate crimes. They are also wanting the FCC to monitor "hate speech" on talk radio and cable networks.

The groups that have banned together and are stating that the listening public can't tell the difference between bigotry or news are wrong. They also feel like being on the web is an easy way to spread hate as no one knows exactly who's doing it or where it's coming from. It is this group that has filed a complaint with the FCC.

For starters, the passage of our SB1070 Law wasn't written to be an "Anti-Latino Law". It is no different then our Federal Immigration Law that our Federal Government in Washington has been failing to act upon for years. To reinterate, it's about following the law to curb the Illegal Immigrant problem that is creating a nightmare across our country. This law was not developed to discriminate against anyone. We have no problem with Legal Immigrants. We open our arms to those that want to enter our country legally or that want to go through the proper process to become Legal American Citizens.

In being "Fair" why wasn't some of the research they had done, done by not only the UCLA Chicano Studies Research Center, but also done with a non Hispanic Study Research. The only group that this law affects is those that "are in this country Illegally".

I believe every American can find something they have seen on the news or radio that they didn't agree with and felt they were being discriminated against in one way or another.

For those that don't understand what is really happening here, the organizations that believe they are hearing hate messages across the airwaves via radio and television want the FCC to censor the stations.

Hate is something that can't be taught but is a learned behavior. Not everyone Hates someone. Hate used through the media if it happens is not a violation of the FCC Rules and Regulations. I don't however believe it is right and nor do I judge anyone on their color of skin or heritage.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) was established by the Communications Act of 1934 and is an independent United States government agency.

Congress granted the authority of enforcing laws that governs broadcasting. The FCC is extremely careful of our First Ammendment rights along with prohibiting censorship and interference with the broadcasters' "Freedom of Speech."

Statutes and Rules regarding Broadcasting

Title 18 of the United States Code, Section 1464, prohibits "any obscene, indecent or profane language by means of radio communication." The law prohibits indecent and profane material from 6 a.m. through 10 p.m. The FCC must always consider the First Ammendment to the United States Constitution along with Section 326 of the Communications Act, which Prohibits the FCC from censoring program material or interfering with broadcasters' free speech rights.


What is Obscene Material

Obscene speech has no protection under the First Ammendment and broadcasters are prohibited, by statute and regulation from airing obscene programming at any time. The U.S. Supreme Court says to be obscene material it must meet a three-prong test. (1) an average person, applying contemporary community standards, must find the material, as a whole, appeals to the prurient interest (i.e. material having a tendency to excite lustful thoughts}; (2) the material must depict or describe, in a patently offensive way, sexual conduct specifically defined by applicable law; and (3) the material, taken as a whole, must lack serious literary, artistic, political or scientific value. The Supreme Court has indicated that this test is designed to cover hard-core pornography.

The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and Section 326 of the Communications Act prohibits the FCC from censoring broadcasters. The FCC does not, therefore, monitor particular programs or particular performers, but rather enforces the prohibition on obscenity, indecency and profanity in response to complaints.

I do understand they want our First Ammendment rights stripped from us. I do also believe that we Americans, aren't getting a fair shake on the air. We have very little air time on the news or cable shows in comparison to those that are protesting the SB 1070 Law. I do think they doth protest too much about this being a human rights and civil rights violation. It isn't it's about keeping Illegal Immigrants from freely entering our country and overburdening our system.

I would like to thank everyone who supports this issue. In closing, I really don't think all of those organizations have a shot with the FCC as they don't even handle those types of issues. We need to stand strong in our faith and love of this country and allow not one person to take our Constitutional Rights from us.[/b]

I meant to say "some". Sorry about that. I realize most Hispanics favor laws to keep our sovereignty intact.

Latinos, Hispanicss, Blacks, Native (Indians) Peoples, Pale Faces , Bronze, Asian and Green Americans who are patriots are all part of alipac - and all citizen patriots want rule of law, enforcement of law, an end to illegal immigration, secure borders and cities, no citizenship or guest worker permits for illegal aliens, anchor babies and spinning the 14th.

When referring to those on the other side of the issue -- who want illegal aliens and who want citizenship for law breakers, open borders, anarchy, and the taking over of America which they call "Atzlan," and have some more equal than others especially if they are un-American -- I refer to these as La Razas, La Ratas, MEChA, MEChAnites, illegal alien lovers, IAL, or traitors. Because my friends those on the other side of the issue come in every shade, color, creed, ethnic group -- some are poor and some are tycoons, some are politicians but all are traitors!
