This is seen, to me, as a personal attack, which is clearly stated in in ALIPACs rules.

On behalf of the many teachers who did not have to teach your children, THANK YOU. You children are the last people we want in class because of your lack of respect for our education, and skills.
My aunt was a teacher for well over 30 years, she too had been fed up with the system and how it forced teachers to go along with things they did not find valuable for the students. People like myself homeschool due to issues, mainly, about class size and that it is nearly impossible for teachers to get to, and address student needs when they are struggling, as well as the lack of discipline that follows. This is an issue with the states who run those schools, not the teachers, but hey, that's great that you would make an assumption on this issue about "why" we chose to homeschool.

Do we also have beliefs that currently conflict with public schools these days? Sometimes, but I would manage that if my kids there, but they would not be simply because they were falling behind and we could not get help with that (the school swore they did not get Title I funds and we would have to find our own way to bring the kids up to speed, so we did).

As for the parents and their input into THEIR childrens education. That is exactly it. Teachers and administrators will call for that constantly, but then the parent does step in where they believe there is something to be concerned about, then the schools get all upset and huffy with the parents. So really, they do not want parental involvement, they want parents who tow the line and just do as the schools wish and not call them on something the schools believe should be done with other peoples children.

About one century ago, schools were run mainly as one room schools, the teachers answered directly to the parents in the community, those who directly paid them to teach, and if they were not doing their best, or were teaching with methods or curriculum which did not meet the parents standards, that teacher was fired and promptly replaced with someone who would do the job asked.

Now the parents authority in their childrens education has been taken away by the federally/state run schools, and although there are plenty of good teachers, their hands are tied by the enormous bureaucracy, which is where the liberal indoctrination comes in, not at the teachers level.

As a former educator (10 years), there were many parents who found no educational value in my lessons. If I were limited by parental objections, I would have never taught a lesson. So now parents should dictate what lessons and skills are valuable? What's the purpose of college degrees, state licensing, teacher credentials, and teacher development programs when the parents really know the value of each lesson and skills. On behalf of the many teachers who did not have to teach your children, THANK YOU. You children are the last people we want in class because of your lack of respect for our education, and skills. What are schools for then when we could just leave it up to parents?
Please keep it civil and no personal attacks. Please review rules.

Why did Obama involve the Dept. of Education, Schools, or Teachers?

Why didn't Mr. Showbusiness just go on Primetime, like he does for all the other messages? Instead, he slips the schools a note... parents find out and can't react because the districts were close for the extended holiday weekend and didn't have board meetings to attend to complain. Why did he create a lesson plan for this, which you must use selected words? Like "Change" and "Hope"...

It's not necessarily the message you have to worry about. It's the Method of Delivery and the Follow-up material.

Don't you know... You see the Right hand and don't notice what the Left is doing behind the back.

My advice, spin Obama around and look at what and who are standing behind him.

Finally a voice of reason! When I was a kid, I saw a Regan speech at school. Bush did it too, but you sure didn't see this kind of protest. It's only because Obama is a democrat that people have a problem all of a sudden.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

I for one, who did vote for both Reagan and Bush Sr. did not approve of the schoolroom intrusions. I was not alone, others were also very concerned. However back then we had only the MSM and no internet. Furthermore, some of those concerned understood the intrusion could indeed be a precursor to further indoctrination of the minds of our children. (perhaps those folks were right?)

Party politics should be taught and instilled at home. The politicians nor the liberal schools have the right to indoctrinate the youth. Afterall, who would want a commie talking about values to their children. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Bailout the car manufacturers,.....look to Reagan. Now look at what that brought us!

Czars? Gee thanks for that precedent aswell!

    Schoolroom intrusions,....thanks again!

Inflamatory? Perhaps. Hows about honest? I want more for my conservitive vote. The Democrats did not lead us to where we are, the Republicans ran us to this point! The Democrats will take the blame, while the Republicans slink back under a rock out of sight.

In a little over a year from now the mid-terms will be here. Who will the Republicans offer? Even if there is a stunning upset and twenty percent turnover, that means eighty percent would still be present. Should the Republicans take back the Senate, will we see a Grahmnesty as Senate majority leader?

Two or three years ago many Americans could not see any difference between the two parties. It has only taken one radical to rehabilitate the Republican Party? Same faces, different tune? Really?

The Republican Party better be making plans for offering something other than 'over easy.'

roundabout, anymore, both parties area sham, not to be trusted.

Parents have EVERY right to make protests against ANYTHING they feel strongly about when it comes to their childrens education, and any potential influence that might happen in the schools.

If I as a parent know a friend of one of my kids is troubled, and I continue to allow that influence, then I better expect it to affect my childs behavior. As a parent, we have an obligation and to our kids, to manage who influences them, and who does not, however it is simply not an obligation, it is also a right. We do not live in a communist or socialist society, our children are our own, not the states, nor the federal governments.
