Lets look at the real world people ~ A rant and a question

Lets take a look at the real world for a few minutes

I've followed political campaigns for years , I also have pretty good insight as to whats going to happen ,

Lets break it down into real world terms with info we have now regarding illegal immigration and other issues

Lets do a fair and balanced analysis

Ron Paul has raised a ton of money and has a ton of very vocal supporters
But the reality is he is still only polling 4-5% , All the cash in the
world will not buy him a majority support of Repubs , He has 0
chance of getting the nom , And you all know this, his
constitutional leanings are very good but his isolationist
policies are going to kill him in this race

    Tom Tancredo
By far the best anti illegal candidate and my favorite, But no
name recognition and very little air time to get out the
fact that on all the issues he has the highest conservative
ratings on all the issues out of all the candidates
Hopefully he will become a leader in the fight after he
withdraws and finishes his house term, he will be someone we
can rally around as head of a national anit org

    Duncan Hunter
Built the border fence in San Deigo and is a great candidate but
Is getting 0 traction and will go nowhere

    John Edwards
A baffoon for open borders and amensty , 0 chance

    Mitt Romney
Has some problems to overcome with his religion and
globalist tendencies , By far has the best record on immigation
out of all the so called "front runners" but has past actions
to back up his tough on illegals stance

    Juan McCain
What needs to be said , supports amnesty

    Hillary Clinton
Again , what needs to be said
    Obama
    Open borders and amnesty supporter

    Rudi
Supports amnesty , supports virtual over a real fence , actually
went to the supreme court to keep NY a sanctuary city

    Fred Thompson
Talks tough , but hired Spencer Abrahams to work on his campaign
Abrahams never met an amnesty he didn't like , Fred talks tough
Seems to me he is having trouble staying awake most places
I've seen him , I don't think he is going anywhere
    --------------------------------------------------------------
You will have to make your own decisions ,

the election of 2008 is the one that matters because it can be the difference of keeping America or allowing us to be annexed to mexico

I agree on a lot of that - but the part about Ron Paul, I don't.

He doesn't come across as an 'isolationist' at all, to me. In what way is he an isolationist?

As for polls, as my husband says, 'If I'm paying for a poll, it best heck say what I want it to say.'.

I grant you all the money won't buy him the support of the Republican party - that's a plus for me. Nothing they have done in many years makes me think they have the best interest of America in mind.

As for Romney being a front runner, it's because the media wants him to be. He is palatable to them and to the 'parties' - so he may very well get the nod and it will be business as usual for the US - and that's sad - may even be fatal.

I will be the first to agree with you that the polls are skewed

They have been skewed for Rudi, and now they are skewed for Huck

Ron Paul advocates for bringing home all the troops from all over the world

He would pull them all out of Iraq in a day , Americans see that as weakness

During the debates that is what gets Paul the boos

Now I do agree that we should be a little less concerned by having all of our troops in other countries when we are being invaded over our southern borders

I wouldn't have a problem with Ron Paul , Tancredo or Hunter
But my post wasn't about me , it was about whats happening out there with 300 million Jane and Joe 6 packs , they are still very much in tune with polls and msm biased media , Its what they will decide , not us.

We now have a big voice but its not yet big enough

Just so we understand that 10 or 20 of us on here
coming out supporting Ron Paul , or Romney isn't going to get them
    elected or even the nomination

We have 300 million people in this country ,
now if half are Dems that leaves us 150 million people
How many of those have even heard of Ron Paul? or Tancredo?
How many will be swayed by Huck and his snake oil?

How many have the fantastic info that people on this site and
other anti sites access on a daily basis ?

    Not many

Reality check: If Rudy or Huckabee win the GOP nom, we lose. The parameters of the debate then are amnesty slightly delayed (GOP), or amnesty fastracked (any of the Dems, with a majority in Congress as well). No real choice, and we're on defense again and could lose. With Romney or Thompson, we'll have a better chance of attrition and no amnesty.

I do agree that the media has tried to either neutralize Paul by trying to make him seem a kook - or they have just ignored him.

Also, it is true that far too many people still base their decision on what the media tells them to - or on what the 'party' tells them.

But if he is raising as much money as he is - then someone is listening to him and agreeing with him.

I'm not saying it won't be an uphill battle - but wouldn't it be something great IF the people had their say and not the media or the 'party'? I think that, in and of itself, would be a huge victory.

When Ron Paul was accused of being a Isolationist his reply was "No I am not an Isolationist but I am a Protectionist".He wants what is best for our country and its people.

Dr. Paul will use the money raised to buy radio and TV air time which will get the word out,as will his blimp.

The media keeps saying the Republican field is still wide open and people have not decided who they will vote for yet.

I think a lot of those people do know who they will vote for and that is Ron Paul, but since he is being ignored by the media they do not know this or are ignoring it hoping they can change it and get one of their Chosen as the Presidential candidate.

I personally am sticking by Dr. Paul through thick or thin because no other candidate (I'm not including Tancredo or Hunter)will stop the erosion of our constituition and our civil liberties nor stop the Anchor Baby Farce which he has said he will do.

If Ron Paul doesn't make it and Tancredo or Hunter gets the nomination, then I'd vote for them.

Otherwise, I'll probably write in Ron Paul - because I can't think of anyone else I could hold my nose long enough to vote.

    No , you are mistaken

Tom Tancredo has also used a contracting company that used
    illegal aliens

To question workers of a contractor will get you a nasty lawsuit
