    Letter to my government

At first I decided to write this in one of those moments we all get, the frustration of all that has been happening. It began as just a personal letter, but after looking it over, I thought it really applied to us all. I felt angry when I realized what Tom Tancredo said on Bill O'Reilly, that he has endured a lot of name calling and critisism, and felt that was the reason , possibly, why other senators and representatives would not take the road Tancredo has to fight illegal immigration fear of being labeled a racist and too worried about their vote. I realized that we all (Minutemen especially), have taken the brunt of the critisism for our less than noteworthy leaders. If anyone here feels that they would like to use this letter, feel free to, I left the bottom open for individuals names to be signed.

    A letter to MY government:

In 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed. That first line "We the people of the United States of America", is a line every American is aware of, knowledgable about.

This statement, this declaration was very clear, it says "WE the people", it does not say "we the government", "we the illegal aliens", or "we the special interest groups" no, it says "WE the people of the United States of America.

This means me, it means my family, it means anyone who patriates themselves to America, legally.

I am highly offended that knowing this statement, MY own government refuses to acknowledge mine, and millions of other Americans desires to enforce our existing immigration laws.

I am offended that you, MY government allows thousands of illegal aliens to march in OUR streets and demand rights of citizens, blatantly, although they have broken our laws.

Recently on Fox news, Tom Tancredo said that he has been subjected to being called racist, and zenophobe, all because he is attempting to amend this enormous problem. He was asked by Bill O'Reilly if his (Tom Tancredos) fellow representatives were afraid of being called these names, afraid of being labeled as a racist or zenophobe? Tom Tancredo answered that this was possible.

I have, and thousands, if not millions, of American citizens have spoken up with Tom Tancredo and we too have been called these names, we too have been labeled as racists, yet we move forward, unafraid. We have been fighting to keep our country sovereign while you sit back, cowered in your corners, hoping that the name calling will stop so you can get back to your cushy positions that WE have voted you in to. WE THE PEOPLE, have been taking these blows for you.

I believe that not a single one of you deserves the jobs you have, and to take it one step further, you do not deserve this country if you are unwilling to take a little critisism in order to do what is right and necessary to enforce our laws.

Thomas Paine wrote in the "American Crisis", in which George Washington read it to his troops on Christmas Eve 1776. Here I have included an excert from the beginning: "These are the times that try mens souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his country; but he that stands it NOW, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: 'tis dearness only that gives every thing its value."

My representatives are these summer soldiers and sunshine patriots. They have shirked their duty to their country and left their work to the citizens that have voted them in. They have taken the easy road, the one that will surely lead to the destruction of this country, the people and our culture.

We have come far from 1776, unfortunately, we have gone too far, and now we are astray of our founding values. Our leaders no longer respect their citizens, they simply want the power that comes with their positions. We have a remedy to that, the vote.

Be reminded that WE are the ones with the power, WE are the ones with the vote NOW, and WE are the ones who hold sway in this economy. YOU have an obligation to uphold our laws, and make those who are disobeying our laws from the illegal aliens, to the employers who hire them, accountable for their actions.

I as an American do not want to hand this problem over to the next generation, I want it taken care of now, not when all of our current representatives are at the end of their careers, when they no longer have to be concerned for the vote. I do not want my children to wonder why I did not stand up and do something. I am doing someting, I am taking the critisism for you, I am telling you, MY representatives, what I and millions of other Americans want.

We want our immigration laws, as they stand right now, ENFORCED. We want a fence, we want our borders secured. We want employers who hire illegal aliens heavily fined. We want the sources of social services that the illegal aliens have been able to access, to be closed off to them, THEY are NOT citizens, they have no rights here, and they have NO right to be here.

Simply I will state it, DO YOUR JOBS, stop debating, stop taking vacations till you have started enforcing our laws and make this a sovereign nation again.

We will remember you when we vote, and history will remember you, will it be favorable? So far, it does not seem so.

    Sincerely,

    U.S. Citizen

Best damn plan I've seen by far .. even better than mine. I can go for this.

Only IMHO social services shouldnt even be afforded to PEMANENT RESIDENT ALIENS.

It should be a service to our citizens.

If I remember correctly, the RESIDENCY PETITION requires you to have proof that someone on this side can cover your expenses as well. So why the welfare assistance? Be sure and mention that!!!

Good letter AE. I guess we all are feeling the same way. Sleep is not restful. I wake up with that something is wrong feeling every morning.

Its like I'm in the twilight zone. Or more like we are trying to stop a freight train by dragging our feet.

Did you see the post about Bush and his Cinco de Mayo celebration yesterday at the Treason House. He said he was still committed to a guest worker program. The same crap about compassionate and lawful at the same time.

But I'm with you AE, I am writing my Congressman and Senators pretty much every week.

There really should not be any kind of welfare to anyone. If a situation warrants assistance (such as a family or single parent who is working, but is going hungry, then yes) then they can get help to get over the rough times, but no more than that.

I sit up late (we're a bit crowded here and it is my only time with peace and quiet to think!!) and get these thoughts, and after seeing Bill O'Reilly talking with Tom Tancredo and Juan Williams, and Tom Tancredo saying this, my mind was in an uproar and would not shut off till I got it out, typed it down.

It really is aggravating that we have to badger our representatives into doing their jobs. I think we need to can them all and start fresh. Someone needs to ban Kennedy from Capitol Hill all together. His brother may have been president and assasinated, but this does not mean he is a good politician, and he needs to stop riding on his brothers coat tails.

Oregons senators are no better. I'm sure others here from their own states feel the same way about their own senators and representative this way too.

    Patriotic letter

AmericanElizabeth, would you give me permission to send your letter--acknowledging your name of course--to the President and members of Congress?

Anyone can use this letter, and my name does not have to be on it. If you choose to, that's alright, but let the know it is from all of us, we all feel this way and all want our government to do what is supposed to do, not what foreign governments or special interest groups want.

It's appalling how many people live in this country, IMHO, that are not citizens and have no intention to become citizens. They have our jobs (some are even in govenment jobs), they use our resources, they complain about our country, but they are given every BENEFIT, with little of the responsibitly citizenship requires. They don't have to serve on juries, they don't have to be vigilant, they just suck up our money and send it to their home countries. I'm not even talking about the illegals, I'm talking about people on permanent visas -- people here legally.
There seems to be no reason to become a naturalized citizen if everything is given to foreign nationals and illegals alike, at the expense of the rest of us.

I hope to God that if we can stop the illegals, next we'll demand that people here should either become citizens in, say, 7 years or get the heck out.

    America for Americans, first!!!!

For some, doesn't matter how long they live here, independently of being or not a citizen, their loyalty is to their birth country. For them, America is just a mat for them to wipe out their feet.

It is sad, but it is true. I have a few acquaintances who think this way.
