Thread: Lexington, KY, Seeks to Give Illegal Aliens Driver's License

I posted the contact info in the comments section but it's not showing yet. I'm wondering if they'll allow it.

I called the Mayor's office and it was confirmed that this commision will be making this recommendation. The woman I spoke with (Pat) offerred to take my comments and pass them to the mayor.

I informed her the proposal was crazy. Most cities and states were taking stronger enforcement actio to restrict or eliminate benefits and DLs for illegal aliens.

I just checked the comments section again. Someone posted that the mayor's office was counting the Yays and Nays phonecalls coming in regarding this. I guess it's a democracy instead of a republic. The majority rules an to hell with the law.

Fletcher blasts recommendations by Lexington immigration commission

Gov. Ernie Fletcher on Tuesday criticized the recommendations of a Lexington commission that has been studying immigration issues.

In a statement, Fletcher’s re-election campaign said the commission’s recommendations “would grant license for more uninsured motorists on the road, favor releasing criminal illegal immigrants back into our communities instead of deporting them, provide potential terrorists with the opportunity to receive driver’s licenses, and make it easier for illegals to vote.â€
