    Cinnamon,

Thank you for the reminder. I really enjoyed the speeches. That was the first time I've heard Vasquez speak and I must say I'm impressed. All of the people that helped make this meeting a reality deserve a big round of applause.

    Way to go folks!

I could have stayed home and listened to it.

Actually I'm glad I was able to be there in person. I feel lucky that I was able to get inside since it looked like a lot of people showed up, and there were only about 450 seats available. Great event and I extremely enjoyed the speeches from everyone! Unfortunately they never got around to answering any questions because they had a 9 PM deadline to end the meeting.

It appeared the police were well prepared for this meeting, and I never felt worried at all about my safety. I only saw a few protesters going in, and none coming out. A woman who sat next me said there were some protesters gathering when she came in who were heckling the crowd, but the police made sure to keep them away. They did a first class job with security. Looking forward to the next meeting whenever that is.

    Way to go Brian!!

It's better to be there in person when you can....you get the personal interaction of the people.

    Thanks for the report!!

I am really proud of this group because they fought hard just to "get a place" to "assemble".

    Hoorah!!

It was a really nice setting for having the immigration forum. A small intimate auditorium where you were not far from the guest speakers. In fact I was sitting next to the loudest person in the place. He frequently shouted different comments and several times the person who was speaking answered back to him. Here I was worried about getting my ear drums blasted by protesters with air horns outside the building. Little did I realize I would get it inside from gentleman next to me. They were a boisterous and enthusiastic crowd. I would have loved to seen the reception they would have given Bush if he showed up.

Chalk one up and cheers for freedom of speech. Jeers to the school superintendent who attempted to censor a United States Senator from speaking by trying to cancel the meeting just three days in advance. Everyone in the district should take an active part in getting the jerk out. If his position is an elected one, vote him out. If his position is appointed, make it clear to the elected appointer, the apointee MUST go to get their votes!

I hope there will be a transcript of it. I so much wanted to hear it, but to read it would be great, since i was on my little walk last night, door to door.
