I've seen Lou Dobbs list, there are so many, how do we go about doing this?

If you want to have a successful boycott, we need to pick FIVE companies.

Each company to boycott should meet the following criteria.

1. They should be members of the US Chamber

2. Their PAC should have given money to try and defeat Arizona's Prop. 200

3. Their PAC should have given to Open Borders members of Congress

4. The public must have another company they can go to and the other companies must not be Open Borders companies

5. Parent companies must be researched to avoid overlap

We have a structure in place for a national boycott that WOULD WORK if properly executed. The problem is that we need some people to do the research necessary for us to pick 5 deserving companies to boycott while allowing the public good choices to go too instead of the target companies.

We also need to ick a date before the senate takes the immigration issue to vote. We need to start emailing and faxing info about all these so maybe we can get prime media exposure. It will also be an excellent idea to protest right before July 4th and persuade people to stop doing business with these anti-american companies..

It is a lot of work, but we need the people willing to do the work. Do we have the people? Any volunteers?

Well, from looking at the list, I might as well stay home and not go anywhere...

Honestly, a national boycott against some of the big names on that list just wouldn't pan out to be effective. It would be like throwing rocks at a solid steel wall.

I would suggest boycotts against smaller companies, and also, if you are in the position to buy from some of these companies where you work, then perhaps you could switch to someone else and tell them why when you do so.

I believe boycotting smaller companies might be effective if those boycotting could possibly protest infront of them. Can you imagine what a protest could do to someone's business who is very dependent on that one location your protesting/boycotting at?

Truism, That is only a PART of the monster. When we get the full accounting of the members of the US Chamber, we will have Many more businesses. The wehirealiens list is smaller, but also vital for inclusion.

The number of companies working against American workers is STAGGERING, and your point well-taken Truism. How can we boycott everything? For me to boycott the companies on Colorado's list I would have to boycott the ENERGY company. I'm sure if I sent them an angry letter announcing my intention to boycott them, THEY WOULD ANNOUCE THEIR RESOLUTION TO BOYCOTT ME!

I'm sure the owner of our apt building will not take kindly to our using candles and open fire for alternative energy sources.

Tim Binh has an idea worth kicking around a bit. He suggests coming from the side of SUPPORTING any companies that have come out against guestworkers. I'm anxious to see which companies those are.

The list would, of course, be much smaller.

William, I respect your experience and realize you are right in the principle of having only a few companies we are asking a boycott on.
I am new to computer and not sure how do the research William is suggesting to find the 5 most likely targets of the boycott.

So I am still requesting that one person from each state volunteer their time to research JUST your states company members of the US Chamber.

Thank You, Thelma. Are you willing to do the research that William outlines above in his post? That would be the best use of real research talents.

The US Chamber member list is simpler work and will just take some time to copy and paste data off of the US chamber site. They could pull that info or otherwise restrict access so we need to work FAST.

If someone wants to get started, just go to the USChamber site, and click on your state. Copy and paste the list of Chamber members that will come up. Paste to a document program. Keep that list ready, (the links wil remain live).

Immediate targets, something that is east to boycott and for which there is a viable alternative.

Tim and I are still hammering out the basic US Chamber Boycott. We are trying to get a website to post the Boycott, so we can keep track of everything. The US Chamber Boycott will involve a mailing first to all of the local member chambers in each state. We want to give them warning and a chance to pull out of The US Chamber first. We want to have that leg of the preparations done By Feb 21st.I will come back and explain more about our plan tonite when I have more free time.

We need a volunteer, or volunteer team from each State. I have some volunteers already and I would like to match up people from the same state to complete the gathering of US Chamber data. It's easy to do. It just takes a little "grunt" time. We will need STATE TEAMS that are willing to mail our Boycott preview to each Chamber in your state that is a member of the US Chamber(not that big of a list). Time is of the essence. We want to announce the Boycott publicly on Feb 28th or thereabouts. We are trying to organize a demonstration in Washington where we will announce the Boycott to the Public. I have calls in to many groups and await answers as to what kind of attendance support we can get. But we want to have the information out to the individual Chambers before that date.

We can use all the help we can get . Time is of the essence. I will be back later tonite to fill you in on the Boycott details. We are still interested in people's ideas and input before we make a final decision.
