The state of Arizona is taking measures to ensure it continues
to crackdown on illegal aliens. Border apprehensions are down
30% in Arizona, but the rising number of border deaths has
officials concerned. The Arizona House of Representatives
passed a bill Thursday, allowing the state’s Governor to deploy
the Arizona National Guard should a State of Emergency be
declared. And unlike the federal plan, the state legislation
allows the Arizona National Guard to apprehend illegal aliens.

Americans snort, smoke and shoot up $65 billion dollars worth
of illegal drugs every year. And tens of billions of that money
flows right into the pockets of drug trafficking organizations
that use the proceeds to fund the next round of smuggling. Join
us tonight for a look at how many schools, hospitals or college
educations Americans could buy, with the money, which instead,
goes up in smoke.

Staff Sgt. Chris Bain wishes to return to Iraq, but the severe
injuries he received when his unit was ambushed in Al Taji will
prevent him from serving his country again. In 2004, Bain left
for Iraq having served 13 years in the military, including
tours in Somalia, Korea and Egypt. Four months into his service
in Iraq, Bain was sent out on a convoy but before his unit made
it out of their base camp where they were ambushed by a group
of insurgents. He tried to protect and help the injured until a
mortar exploded three feet away and he was shot in the arm.
Bain, awarded a purple heart for his injuries, says his morale
is still high despite the loss of his short term memory and
wishes he could return to serve his country. Join us for a full
report, tonight.

that war: 85% of the cocaine, 50% of the heroin that ends up on
U.S. streets originates here. We'll take you to the front lines
of the war on drugs in Colombia ahead of President Bush's
visit. Since 2000, the United States has spent nearly three
quarters of a billion dollars annually funding this war. And
yet narcoterrorists continue to smuggle drugs into the United
States. We'll have a special report.
