Tonight, the fate of President Bush’s nominee to be the next
attorney general hangs in the balance. Senator Patrick Leahy,
the Democratic chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee now
says he will vote against confirming Michael Mukasey,
criticizing the nominee’s stance on a controversial
interrogation technique.

Troubled home lender Countrywide Financial and White House
representatives testified on Capitol Hill today about the
mortgage crisis that is plaguing millions of American families
as they face foreclosure because they agreed to adjustable rate
mortgages that have now skyrocketed. But who’s really looking
out for our nation’s middle class? We’ll tell you tonight.

The head of the Consumer Product Safety Committee is under fire
for taking several trips financed by toy companies, the very
companies she's supposed to investigate to be certain their
products meet American standards and do not endanger our
children. Is Nancy Nord and the CPSC looking out for your
safety?

What states have allowed licenses for illegal aliens and what
has the impact been on their voting and other privleges a
license allows? We’ll examine that tonight.
