Lou Dobbs Tonight
Tuesday, March 20, 2007

Tonight, Congress and the White House on the brink of a
Constitutional showdown over the controversial firing of eight
federal prosecutors. We’ll have a full report tonight on the
latest fallout from the developing scandal.

A startling number of Americans are functionally illiterate.
The State Education Agency says one in five Americans cannot
read maps, comprehend bus schedules or fill out job
applications, and nearly one-third of people living in our
nation’s capital are functionally illiterate. What impact will
this have on our future and how can we fix it?

We’re continuing to follow Hazleton, Pennsylvania’s extensive
and expensive court battle against the ACLU and other
pro-illegal alien advocacy groups over its laws cracking down
on illegal aliens. We’ll have a full report from Scranton.

Major industrialized countries have seen enormous population
growth from immigration: The flow of people from developing
countries to developed countries has hit staggering
proportions. Tonight we’ll take a look at the countries that
are growing the fastest, the top destination of population
migrations, and the main countries from where people emigrate.

A news conference will be held to announce plans to create “an
arm to arm human chain to encircle” the Los Angeles downtown
Federal Building and Western Regional headquarters of
Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The protestors will
“demand an end to President Bush's national terror campaign
against immigrants and Latino women, children and workers.”
Despite these claims, new data shows the number of federal
prosecutions for immigration law violations are down. We’ll
have a special report tonight.

And are our elected officials listening to their constituents?
We'll be joined by three of the nation's best radio talk show
hosts: Joe Madison of WOL in Washington, Peter Boyles of KHOW
in Denver, and Mark Riley of Air America Radio in New York.
