01-31-2009, 04:13 PM #11And that is true The American public is at fault for a lot of what goes on since they or we are the major consumers in the world. People want but they do not want higher prices. We consumers must understand our part in the loss of US manufacturing jobs.
Consumers seek out and buy the cheapest products available and US manufacturing cannot compete with low wages paid to workers in other countries.
If we want to buy American "Well" Made products then we must be willing to pay more to keep the jobs here.
Just as in "BUY AMERICAN" they want to use all USA made steel for the projects. Years ago we were at the top of steel but higher and higher wages drove us out of the market when Japan and Europe came into the market and could do it for cheaper prices. And as I read it was of higher quality steel.
