A shocking Survey from California shows that the San Bernandino massacre of terror has affected the voters in the liberal state, in a YUGE way.

A majority of voters, from all age groups and demographics (aside from Democrats) support Donald Trump’s plan to ban Muslim immigration temporarily.

Arson Is Suspected at a California Mosque

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — A fire that tore through part of a Southern California mosque just before a prayer service on Friday is being investigated as a possible arson, the authorities said.

Congregants at the Islamic Society of Coachella Valley had started arriving for 1 p.m. prayers when they heard a “loud boom” shortly after noon, Reymundo Nour, the mosque’s acting imam, said.

Soon, the front of the mosque erupted into flames. More than a dozen firefighters arrived within minutes and contained the fire to the lobby, although there was smoke damage throughout the building, officials said. No one was injured.

Congregants reported what sounded like a “fire bomb,” said Mr. Nour, who was not present at the time but heard from several people who had been there. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said it is investigating the fire as a “possible arson,” and the F.B.I. is participating in the investigation.

Mr. Nour said the fire was disconcerting for him and the congregants at the mosque in Coachella near Palm Springs, almost 80 miles from San Bernardino, where 14 people were killed and 22 injured during an attack last week.

He said it “saddens me people who are ignorant would do something like this.”

“We go to the mosque with our families,” Mr. Nour added. “Everyone wants to feel safe.”

The mosque has faced aggression in the past. Last year, someone shot at the outside of the mosque, with several bullets striking the building and vehicles parked outside. No one was injured.

Mr. Nour said security had since been increased. And on Friday, he urged his congregants to be vigilant but to also remain resilient.

“We have to understand we’re not any less American than anyone else,” said Mr. Nour, who described himself as a “decorated combat veteran.”

“We’re not going to be scared away,” he said. “We’re here to stay.”

COACHELLA >> Authorities have arrested a man in connection with an arson fire at a Coachella mosque, authorities confirmed Saturday. Records indicate that 23-year-old Carl James Dial was arrested about 9 p.m. Friday in the 77700 block of Country Club Drive in Palm Desert. After four hours of questioning and investigation, he was booked into Indio Jail just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday on suspicion of committing a hate crime, three arson-related crimes and burglary.

Riverside sheriff’s officials previously released a statement calling the blaze at the Islamic Society of Coachella Valley “an intentional act,” and saying it would use all available resources to investigate.

People at the mosque described hearing a “loud boom” and seeing flames, said Reymundo Nour, the mosque’s acting imam, who was not on the site at the time. He said the mosque had been “firebombed.”

Authorities provided no details on how the fire was set.

Dial was being held in lieu of $150,000 bail, according to county booking records. A search of Riverside County Superior Court records revealed no previous criminal convictions.

He was scheduled to appear at the Indio Larson Justice Center for an arraignment hearing Wednesday, according to county booking records.

State fire investigators, the federal Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the FBI are assisting in the investigation.

The mosque is about 75 miles from San Bernardino, where last week a couple who federal officials say were inspired by Islamist extremists killed 14 people. Some Muslims in Southern California and beyond have worried about the potential for reprisals, while leaders of various faiths have called for tolerance.

In a statement released Friday evening, U.S. Rep. Raul Ruiz, whose district includes the area in which the mosque is located, called on authorities to investigate the blaze as a possible hate crime.

“Our faith in humanity will not be intimidated,” he said. “And we stand together against any form (of) violence towards the innocent.”

County and city officials also condemned the attack.

“We see this as a cowardly act of vandalism that we will not tolerate in our community,” Coachella Mayor Steven Hernandez said.

The mosque was hit by gunfire in November 2014 in what authorities investigated as a possible hate crime. No one was hurt in the early morning incident. The case remains under investigation, and no arrests have been made.

Two California Mosques Vandalized with 'Jesus' Graffiti

Two southern California mosques were vandalized over the weekend, less than two weeks after the San Bernardino massacre that left 14 dead and 22 wounded, PEOPLE confirms.

Members arrived to the Islamic Center of Hawthorne on Sunday to find "Jesus is the way" spray-painted outside. Just blocks away, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Baitus-Salaam Mosque was also vandalized, the word "Jesus" scrawled across its gates. A fake hand grenade was sitting in the driveway.

"A few of our members went to early morning prayer at about 5 a.m. and they found graffiti on the outside wall and 'Jesus' was written on the fence," Zahid Mian, a member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, told the San Bernardino Sun. Mian described the incidents as "disturbing."

Both incidents are being investigated as hate crimes. The vandalism came just days after 23-year-old Carl James Dial Jr. was arrested on suspicion of setting a Coachella Valley, California, mosque on fire, the Associated Press reports. Authorities said Dial, who has not appeared in court or entered a plea, firebombed the mosque with worshippers inside. Thankfully, no one was injured.

"This type of behavior is born out of ignorance and fear," Ahsan M. Khan, chapter president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, told the Associated Press following the incidents. "It's through peaceful dialogue that we can hopefully see less of this type of hate crime." Harassment has increased against the Muslim community in the wake of the Dec. 2 shooting at Inland Regional Center.

The San Bernardino shooters, identified as married couple Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, and Tashfeen Malik, 29, were killed in a shootout with police following their killing spree.

Both were radicalized "for some time" before the shooting in San Bernardino, FBI Assistant Director David Bowdich confirmed at a press conference last week.

Corey Saylor, spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, told PEOPLE last week that, "As of right now, 2015 has been the worst on record since we started tracking in terms of mosque incidents."

Saylor said there was a spike in incidents against Muslims after theParis terror attacks. "Then the San Bernardino shootings happened and anecdotally it feels like it got worse. I think it's the worst period since 9/11. People are getting targeted just for looking wrong."

Hawthorne police are working together with the FBI to investigate Sunday's incidents. The FBI is also working with authorities in Coachella Valley.

"We continuously work with our state and local partners to secure communities and to investigate and bring to justice those who would commit violent acts or make violent threats against others based on the victim's Constitutionally-protected characteristics or beliefs, real or perceived," the FBI said in a statement.

"The FBI takes seriously all acts or threats of violence and reminds the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any crimes or suspicious activity to law enforcement."
