spanish TV News station. why do they not add english for us

    Our TV News station.

I wonder I know that movies and the news broadcasted in English are
Redone so people who can not understand English can hear it in Spanish.
I was watching the news on telemundo 29 and I saw they were doing a news story in Spanish of illegal immigrants crossing the border and the news anchor
Was laughing. I wish I knew what they were saying. also I know it sounds dumb but it seems that channel 29 out of Dallas loves to splash color around there logo and the colors are the same color as the Mexican flag and they seems to carry more news about south America than the English speaking tv stations . I think more of us would be more aware if we were able to see and hear it in English . after all we converted our news to Spanish why not them converting there news to English …

They don't want Americans to know what they're saying, especially in regards to illegal aliens.

The number of people who are in your position is smaller than the number of Latinos seeking to watch national network news broadcasts. I can catch most of it due to my studying Spanish in school. I too sometimes miss some point and can see the benefit of English captioning when I watch Univision or Azteca.
I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Let's all learn Spanish and start calling them on it every time they say something "inappropriate." That's what they do to Lou Dobbs. They watch him just to find something to complain about.

Well, KMEX Univision out of Los Angleles is not K....MEX as in Mexico for nothing.

I have watched Spanish television news here in Denver on Univision KCEC and quite frankly cannot watch it because the local anchors are not very professional. I will watch Univision although both Jorge Ramos and Maria Elena Salinas are cry baby apologists for illegals. Both are Mexicans.

Now, both Pedro Sevcec and Jose Diaz Balart of NBC owned Telemundo are very good. Jose Diaz Balart is the brother of US Congressman Lincoln Diaz Balart and another Balart brother whose first name escapes me. Both represent districts in Miami Dade county. They are a Cuban family. Jose Balart worked in ENGLISH for CBS before going to Telemundo.

There is nothing on either Telemundo or Univision national news that you will not see on NBC, ABC, or CBS EXCEPT they have good coverage of Latin American news. I turn both channels OFF when they start their sob stories of deported illegals and their families. UNIVISION is the worst for this.

There is very little that you would hear in Spanish that they would not want you to hear. I am sick and tired of non Spanish speaking Americans who "think they are talking about me behind my back". I speak Spanish and on only 1 ocassion in more than twenty years have I heard anybody say anything about gringos.

If you are not watching Spanish television you are not missing much except for the Latin American news.

If you want to complain however, find out how many non Spanish or Spanish speaking NON Hispanics are working at these stations. It seems to me that here in Denver all the local news stations, in English, are hiring as much "diversified" people as they can while the Hispanic community can just hire Hispanics and nobody says a word....same thing with Mexican restaurants, grocery stores, and any other endeavor.....

News is for the benefit(?) of the intended audience, not the unintended. Propagandistic or not. Consumption plays to appetite. Can you handle a Habanero or Jalapeno spiced broadcast?

My mother, may she rest in peace, would get soooo angry when they'd start talking about illegal aliens on the spanish language news. I would get a running commentary from her while trying to listen, it was almost comical.

What was she angry about? These so called immigrants (aka illegal aliens) demanding this and that from the US. Pissed her off to no end.
"Who the &**^ do they think they are, demanding this and that?" she would storm at the tv (and me). "Did they pay their dues, like I did? NO!" It got to a point that I would pray for the tv to break down.

Well, my Brazilian friend and I BOTH know Spanish, and while the Hispandering reporting of the Spanish media on illegal aliens UPSETS me, it OUTRAGES her!

Its discrimination. Just like BET its ok for everyone to gear their programming to cater to certain groups but what do you think would happen if someone started White Entertainment Network. It wouldnt last a DAY!!!

    You got my curiosity up so I just did a count;
I have Satellite so the total channel count is higher over standard local networks.

Here is the list I came up with; Note before Satellite and cable the only Spanish channel in Chicago was 44 for as long as I can remember. Then channel 60 did both with Spanish coming on late night.

Then with Satellite (or cable) BHO package you get HBOLT.

Then just last week when I was channel surfing I notice two new Spanish channels in the local range. 13 and 66.

Up until just now, as I was counting them for this post, I see that the paid (Satellite/cable range) have these new channels 159,220,270,271,273,824,830,833, and 884 above HBOT (309), which I know I had.

    (I don’t know way 270,271,273 repeats as 824,830,833)

    13 WOCK
    44 WSNS
    60 WXFT
    66 WGBO
    159 SITV
    220 SLTV Shop Latino Network
    270 UNVSN
    271 FTRAE
    273 GLVSN
    309 HBOLT HBO Latino
    824 UNVSN
    830 FTRAE
    833 GLVSN
    884 CCTVE

I though it funny when I was on channel 884, that it was showing a Chinese program with Spanish subtitles. So is that a Chinese or a Spanish channel?

This type of channel count is how I found it to be when I visited CA some 10 to 15 years back, as Chicago only had the one channel.

This is the invasion in full force. They are in colonization mode.

All kidding aside but is how LA fell. A little of Spanish allow here, then a little bit more there. Then official public signs, forms, and “dial 1 of Englishâ€
