As I've told another ALIPAC member repeatedly, no one has suggested the fence is the sole solution to our problem. However, I do believe it to be an important component to the overall solution, which includes ending benefits, interior enforcement, mandatory E-verify, and tougher employer sanctions for those caught cheating.I don't think Ron Paul's lack of support of a fence is a negative thing. This may upset a few here but, I don't believe that a fence is the answer. Remember the Berlin wall?
The Berlin Wall is completely irrelevant to any discussion we may have on a border fence. The Berlin Wall was built mainly to prevent well-educated East Germans from leaving East Germany. In other words, it's primary function was to keep people in, not out.
You should because he has been a leading advocate against illegal immigration. His voice is very important to our cause.Who cares what Terry Anderson says or does."The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" ** Edmund Burke**

I thought Ron Paul did a super job on Meet The Press. At least he's honest with his answers and Tim doesn't have to dig at him to get answers like he does his other "guests."
RIP TinybobIdaho -- May God smile upon you in his domain forevermore.

Well, if my candidate of choice were to say, for example, we need less interior enforcement or fewer BP agents - I'd be all over him like cheap suit!

01-06-2008, 02:33 PM #19Are you, Balboa and usanevada, claiming we don't need a fence as part of a comprehensive security and enforcement package? Are you suggesting we should just keep the border wide open? Let's forget about the illegal immigrants for a minute - what about the smugglers and potential terrorist? Do you think removing illegal immigrant benefits and enhancing interior enforcement is going to stop them from coming? News flash, not everyone crossing our borders illegally is to provide "cheap" labor. To think so is a little naive, don't you think?Balboa wrote:

Once again, without interior enforcment, the fence won't work.
No, no one has said we won't have interior enforcement - they just refuse to do it. We don't have it - we haven't had it. The only reason we don't is because the enforcers refuse.
We have laws on the books that would work to fix a huge percent of the problem - in a matter of 60-90 days - if enforced. That simply isn't being done - in fact, everything is being done to squander the money and resources to do it.
They are going after small time, raids - just a handful. Oh, and they checked a company that employs thousands and thousands of hispanics and they busted a ring of counterfeiters - and did some further chekcing and and found 30 - imagine that - out of thousands - tens of thousands - they found 30. To be honest, they said they only checked 1,100 - why?
Oh, and they have just about given Pilgrim's a total pass - Pilgrim's just didn't know they were getting illegals - when them employed all those hispanics. They thought the were all legal. They were 'duped' - do you hear 'duped'.
Our laws are being unused, misused and abused - but not enforced.
Once again, we could build a fence that would keep even the horned toads out - and we still have 30M+ here, reproducing at huge rate, infiltrating more and more of our economy, our politics, etc.. Without interior enforcement - which we don't have - and won't have under this administration, the fence will have little effect on our demise as a country. The waiting hoards of illegals are not needed to get the job done.
That's the dirty little secret our politicians know - so they are keeping us focused on that 'sometime - yet to be designed' fence and staging Show and Tell raids.
Put the fence in the picture of the real situation here in this country - not what we want - but what we have.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
