A national program in Mexico called "Tercer grado" where mayor news journalists come together to talk about topics that affect Mexico, are blamming the Mexican government for the problems that the new NAFTA provisions are causing in the Mexican agriculture.

Joaquin Lopez Doriga, Mexico's most important news journalist said: "The Mexican government is treating the NAFTA agriculture provisions as if it where an earthquake, as if no one new what would happen in January 1st, 2008. Everyone new that this day would eventually come and the Mexican goverment did nothing to prevent this economic disaster in the agriculture industry".

Other journalists are also blaming the lack of aid to the agriculture industry by the goverment and the lack of diversification as the cause of the Mexican agriculture collapse.

Journalist Carlos Marin added: "The two people responsible for the problems that NAFTA is causing in the Ag sector is President Ernesto Zedillo and President Vicente Fox. They failed to modernize the Ag sector and allow Mexico to assume its responsibilities under the rules of NAFTA".

Kudos to you all journalists!
