What agency are we talking about that says it is no big deal for Foreign Military flights over the United States?

Is it a foreign flight or is it possibly allowed under NAFTA, SPP, or any other agreements, some of which might be secret?

Good point, Bowman! Scare the jeebers out of American citizens on behalf of foreign powers and no explanation forthcoming, no formal protest by the government about our sovereignty (which the Mexicans are real quick to do when we try to build the border fence to protect our country.) And funny there has been no mention of this on any major media channels.

Why would Mexico want war with us.

Because they lost the first one and never got over it, that's why.

Most people don't seem to understand the depth of hatred and need to avenge that loss which has permeated Mexico since their defeat but it's fact.....although relatively well hidden in the history.....that since Hildago there has been many a plan and strategy geared toward war with the United States.

Plans and strategies which had previously been put on hold because they knew they would lose.

They know they'd lose in a matter hours. They don't have to be smart to figure that one out

Would they lose in a matter of hours?

How much our military is currently deployed overseas? How much of our national defenses have been significantly weakened?

To the contrary, how many billions of dollars have WE spent in arming and otherwise building up Mexico's military?

How many millions upon millions of Mexican nationals are now well positioned within our borders. How many members of groups like MS-13 and other militarily trained and equipped anti-American pro-latin factions? Do you know that, in some major cities, these groups are so thick that if they chose to do so they could.....without hardly breaking a sweat....wipe out law enforcement, mow down the closest Guard units, and completely over throw the governments of those cities? I didn't know that until I caught it in a documentary a few years ago on tv and it was enough to keep me awake that night wondering how this had been allowed to happen.

Why has Calderon been so emboldened that he has openly.....on US soil.....proclaimed this to be Mexico by virtue of Mexicans being present? Why has he dared to officially visit this country, not to visit with our leaders, but to visit only with pro-Mexican politicians at all levels of our government, pro Mexican groups, and to address stadiums full of Mexicans?

Why has Calderon gone around the world openly forming what he has brazenly called an "anti United States Alliance" of Latin countries, joined in the promise that they will do whatever they deem necessary to ensure that their nationals have free run of this country, and privilege to all it contains, as THEY choose?

Why have both Calderon and Fox become so brave as to openly state in our press and media that the US needs to just surrender it's sovereignty to Mexico?

These are the actions and words of people who have become awfully comfortable in seeming to throw down the gauntlet all of a sudden and one doesn't do that unless they're fairly confident that they can somehow hold their own against this country at this point in time.

One of the biggest mistakes we've made is to underestimate Mexico.

Excellent points AZW. Lets not forget the well armed drug cartels within mexico and now the US. They are drug dealers, but mexicans first, which means they would also likely join hands with the mx gov to fight against any faction which threatens their profits.

The machismo factor is alive and well in mexico. In fact, it's demonstrated every time mexican nationals take to our streets, demanding rights and privileges for which they are not entitled - all while waiving their beloved flag of mexico. Combine this with an uneducated and reckless citizenery and you have the necesssary ingredients to move forward.

Perhaps the greatest threat posed by mexico thus far is the fact that we have all but ignored our border with mexico; allowing millions of their militant citizens into our country in which they have permeated every sphere of our society.

To say these people are galvanized would be an understatement, especially when you have a president who has all but promised something which he cannot deliver to this population. This has the potential to become an explosive situation, especially when groups as la raza, splc (not to mention the hispanic caucus) continue to pour fuel on the fire each day amnesty is not passed.

Besides, some might say we are already engaged in conflict with mexico. What else would you call millions of illegals, demanding rights and privileges for which they are not entitled, all while being sanctioned by ethnocrats in our own government, whose actions and behavior would give any reasonable person pause as to their country of loyality.

What do you call the rhetoric that spews from the mouth of current and former president of mexico, attempting to arouse his illegal bretheren within out borders.

On the other hand, why would mexico need to resort to military action when they can simply walk across the border and take what they want. When they can set up a mexican consulate anywhere and at any place of their choosing, including roving consulates. Why would they need to fire a shot when they have essentially received endorsement from our own government to advance their occupation within our borders.

    It's worked thus far....

I'm just curious as to why an American can drive a small plane into one of our buildings prompting fighter jets to respond and hover quite a while yet foreign air forces enter our space and officials give us a shrug...

Great posting azwreath! ........and America continues to underestimate Mexico. Those of us who have had experience dealing with the "machismo factor" know that good sense isn't used.

This issue is unique - it is intimately involved with the terrorism issue, economic issues, jobs and health care. The more this is ignored, the worse it will get and then when folks become upset, the border will essentially be erased - it will essentially become an easement for the Mexicans. If you can not protect your borders, you can not protect your sovergnity. The most outrageous thing about this is that it could be fixed in 48 hours. Pull troops out of South Korea and Europe and station them with sniper rifles on the border. Hire several thousand border patrol officers. Constantly have US helicopters and drones patrol the border. This problem is simple to stop. The ramifications of stopping it might be complex, but stopping it is simple. Mexico is a failed state and represents far more danger to the US than a bunch of dudes hiding out in caves in Afganistan who MIGHT do something to harm Americans. Mexicans are flowing over the border right now harming Americans. Harming them in some cases violently and in some cases subtly, but harming them none the less.

Even better would be to have RC-130 and P-3 aircraft patrol the land borders like they currently do our sea borders. Plus have a few AC-130 gunships which could take out intruding drug vehicles with their .50 cal and 20mm guns.
