What do the Mexicans think would happen if hypothetically speaking the US said "Okay, here is your property back".

The US gives them back all the land they claim is theirs, US citizens leave said areas and we have a new border. They are on their side and us on ours. It would not take long for the land they took back to be just as corrupt and run down as it is in Mexico.

If the US actually did what should have done a long time ago before this got so out of hand and actually secure our borders it would force them to stay and face their own problems. They could either live with the corruption as it is or change things.

And I just do not understand how they can be so loyal to a country that has treated them so badly. They all say they come here for a better life because things are so bad in Mexico and yet they remain fiercely loyal to Mexico, the very thing they are fleeing.

And besides all of the above. My personal opinion is Mexico just is not my problem. I just do not care what goes on south of the border and furthermore I do not feel it is the the responsiblilty of the United States to fix the problems in Mexico. We have already given them enough. Send them home and put up a wall.

You're exactly right. If we gave them back every square inch of land.....it wouldn't be over and we've already seen they will turn it back into everything they claim to hate. Mexico would just have more land.

Like you....I don't understand the loyalty to a country who has totally failed them. If I have to run like they have.....beleive me I sure wouldn't be fighting for my new country to be exactly like the one I escaped from.

I'd be learning the language and fitting in and trying to be part of a land of opportunity. I'd eat my apple-pie at home and enjoy my football game in my house and do nothing to offend the country or it's people for being nice enough to let me in. I wouldn't be burning their flag and demanding their government give me what their own citizens don't all get.

Ya...I would fight if their culture thought it was ok to rape women and children and torture animals or something.....but learn the language, abide by safety and hygiene rules, drive on the other side of the road, wear or don't wear something.....fine. Or else I'd have to find a new place to hang my hat.

    .
If we gave them back California they would just complain that they now have to travel another thousand mile to cross the border into Oregon.

You're absolutely right! But instead, we allow Mexico to send people who could potentially revolt and change things there to come here. It's like a safety valve for Mexico to prevent reform there. We're doing the Mexican nation and it's people no favor by having an open border. The best thing we could do for them is to secure our border and make them stay and face their own problems, as you said.

Mexico has tremendous natural resources and they sit on a huge pool of oil but a few hundred families have all of the wealth and they export their poverty to us. I'd like to see the socialist candidate win in Mexico. Time for Fox and friends to share the wealth. I never thought I'd espouse Socialism but it's probably the only thing that will work in Mexico.
My concern is really not for Mexico but for us. We can't survive as a nation if we admit 193 million unskilled uneducated people in the next 20 years as the Heritage Foundation predicted if amnesty is granted.
