Mexico's Immigration Law: Try it Here
Mexico's Immigration Law : Try it Here!
October 20, 2006 01:00 PM EST
This article should be an eye opener, especially to those who object to enforcement of U.S. borders and laws.
Mind you, this is the law of the land in the nation that has threatened to take the U.S. to the UN for building a fence on American soil!
Mexico has a radical idea for a rational immigration policy that most Americans would love. However, Mexican officials haven’t been sharing that idea with us as they press for the U.S. Congress to adopt the McCain-Kennedy immigration reform bill.
That’s too bad, because Mexico, which annually deports more illegal aliens than the United States does, has much to teach us about how it handles the immigration issue.
Under Mexican law, it is a felony to be an illegal alien in Mexico.
At a time when the Supreme Court and many politicians seek to bring American law in line with foreign legal norms, it’s noteworthy that nobody has argued that the U.S. look at how Mexico deals with immigration and what it might teach us about how best to solve our illegal immigration problem.
Mexico has a single, streamlined law that ensures that foreign visitors and immigrants are:
In Mexico legally;
Have the means to sustain themselves economically;
Not destined to be burdens on society;
Of economic and social benefit to society;
Of good character and have no criminal records; and
Contributors to the general well being of the nation.
The law also ensures that:
Authorities have a record of each foreign visitor;
Foreign visitors do not violate their visa status;
Foreign visitors are banned from interfering in the countrys internal politics;
Foreign visitors who enter under false pretenses are imprisoned or deported;
Foreign visitors violating the terms of their entry are imprisoned or deported;
Those who aid in illegal immigration will be sent to prison.
Who could disagree with such a law? It makes perfect sense.
The Mexican constitution strictly defines the rights of citizens and the denial of many fundamental rights to non-citizens, both illegal and illegal.
Under the constitution, the Ley General de Poblacion, or General Law on Population spells out specifically the country’s immigration policy.
It is an interesting law - and one that should cause us all to ask, “Why is our southern neighbor pushing us to water down our own immigration laws and policies, when its own immigration restrictions are the toughest on the continent?â€<div>"The making of an American begins at the point where he himself rejects all other ties, any other history, and himself adopts the vesture of his adopted land."**

The more travelers from other countries Mexico can return home, the better. The reality may be that so many are slipping through anyway--on their way to the US--that Mexico would prefer to just help them along.

Then Mexico expects us to change our laws to deal with this situation instead of changing their own. After all, it increases Mexican territory, for where any Mexican is, it is Mexico.Proud American and wife of a wonderful LEGAL immigrant from Ireland.

Mexico's Immigration Laws
I have been asking for an answer to this question for quite sometime now. How it is that Mexico can demand that our laws on immigration be reformed to suit their needs. I really want one senator or one congressman to tell me why is it that our country is being intemadated by the Mexican government in its demands that our immigration laws need to be reformed. It is my opinion that they all need to receive a copy of the immigration laws of Mexico. It just dosen't make any sense that our elected officials would even consider reforming our laws just because the Mexican government tell the idiots that the laws of this country needs to be reformed. And just like the DUMMIES that they are, they listen to these people whose immigration are the worse in the world. WHY ARE OUR POLITICIANS SO STUPID? Is there anyone out there that can answer this question?
