Minutemen now a target by US

What I have read below and from other media reporting basically the same information, I am greatly ashamed of this government. They have taken what the founding fathers had intended and perverted it beyond any previous form. How can an elected body of people do exactly what they want without the support of the American people.

When does the word treason ever hit the fan. I have hinted on treason towards Texas senators and congressmen. Under the constitution, it looks more like treason everyday. As I have said before, the government is not going to correct this problem. This is why I make that statement. What kind of system would you have to have in place to screen illegal alien under the conditions of the bill that is currently on the table? Meaning the 2 years for instance. How could you verify the information? You can't! The ones working under a false social security number and not paying income taxes. Uhh tax invasion comes to mind real quick. Never mind that is a felony to knowingly have forged documents in your possession and to use them as credible forms of identification.

I am sorry, but I am mad as hell.

This is a partial transcript from "The O'Reilly Factor," May 9, 2006, that has been edited for clarity.

BILL O'REILLY, HOST: Now for the top story tonight, charges the U.S. Border Patrol is alerting Mexican authorities about the movements of the Minutemen protesters along the southern border. According to the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin, Border Patrol spokesman Mario Martinez has confirmed the situation. Martinez and other U.S. government officials would not appear with us this evening. But joining us now from Las Vegas is Juan Hernandez, author of the book, "The New American Pioneers: Why Are We Afraid of Mexican Immigrants?" You're smiling on there. I'm not afraid of Mexican immigrants. I'm not afraid, you know, you're my compadre. I think it's why — I'm not going to tell you how you write your book. But the big issue here is that the American government is telling the Mexican government about the whereabouts of American protesters. And you think this is OK?

JUAN HERNANDEZ, AUTHOR, "NEW AMERICAN PIONEERS": Well, I think that it's wonderful that the United States and Mexico are working together. Many of us have been calling for this for a long, long time. The way to have a secure border is to work with Mexico, with our second most important partner. I mean, if we want a secure border, we should be thinking about how can we work better with Mexico.

O'REILLY: How are we working with them, because we have a few dozen protesters, the Minutemen, they are protesters and they want a secure border. So how does this benefit the U.S. government or the Mexican government by wasting everybody's time, telling the Mexican government where the protesters are?

HERNANDEZ: Well, the president of the United States has not called them protesters. He has called them vigilantes.

    O'REILLY: What's your definition?

HERNANDEZ: Vigilante, well it's a group that is going out and taking in their own hands the laws of this land. I would say right now, we want the federal government — and Congress is debating right now what to do with these wonderful immigrants being documented. What I say is let's stop by the way the raids also. There are children who may lose their parents any moment that will be deported. Let's let Congress do their jobs.

O'REILLY: Let's just stay to the issue here. Now, you say they are taking the law into their own hands. There isn't any evidence the Minutemen have broken any laws. They sit in lounge chairs. They call the Border Patrol and say we have cited some people coming over here illegally. You know, the dictionary definition of vigilante is a group that suppresses and punishes crime, punishes. Minutemen don't punish crime. All they are doing is protesting the lax border by sitting there, getting media coverage, and telling the country that anybody can cross over any time they want. I don't consider that vigilante and I don't know why the U.S. government wants to even bother with the Minutemen. I'm not getting it.

HERNANDEZ: Well, they are instilling fear, my friend.

O'REILLY: Who's afraid of the Minutemen?

HERNANDEZ: Afraid of the immigrants — the article today that says we are risking our lives. If the United States, our government, tells Mexico that we are at risk, we could be killed. I mean these are wonderful people that are enriching our nation. They are in no way a threat to anyone. So instilling that kind of fear I think is not the right way to look at this.

O'REILLY: Mr. Hernandez, I mean you obviously don't know about the El Salvadoran gang, MS13.

    HERNANDEZ: Oh sure I do.

O'REILLY: And the 10 percent of people incarcerated in California who are illegal aliens, have committed felonies. So don't give me the Shirley Temple look on this business because it's not true. Most illegal immigrants are good people, but there is a strain that's violent, and the chaos is hurting the country in general. But let's get back to the Minutemen. I'm not getting with all the problems the Border Patrol has in keeping out millions of people trying to get in here, why they are watching a bunch of people in lounge chairs with binoculars, and then calling the Mexicans and squealing on them. I'm not getting it. And you haven't explained it to me.

HERNANDEZ: Well, but, for some reason, they are instilling fear. They are getting — here we are you and I. But we're talking about this here on the show, my friend. And if they were not having an impact on this nation, the Minutemen, then we wouldn't be talking about this.

O'REILLY: The Minutemen have had an influence on the nation by drawing attention to the problem. I don't think the minutemen are instilling fear in anybody.

    HERNANDEZ: Oh, yes, they are.

    O'REILLY: Who?

HERNANDEZ: Many people look at them as being sort of Ku Klux Klan-ish type groups. And forgive me, but in the '50s and '60s people said the same things about other groups. Let me just put it from another point of view. There are many, many in this nation. There are pastors. And by the way, there are priests. By the way, this week there was a group of pastors that I met with, the Robert Morrises, the Jack Hayfords — who are Anglo pastors who are saying, you know what, maybe we do need to analyze this a little bit further. These are good people. Let's not be on the wrong side of history.

O'REILLY: You still haven't explained to me why the U.S. government wants to take the time to inform on the Minutemen by calling the Mexican authorities. I think it's a tremendous waste of the taxpayer time and money and the federal government should be ashamed of itself for dealing with that and avoiding the real problem, securing the border. But it's always a pleasure to speak with you, Mr. Hernandez. If you want to get a good idea of how Mr. Hernandez and others see this problem, read his book. It's very well written.

I started watching that interview, but I clicked off the tv with the first words out of the mouth of Hernandez...'wonderful people?" oh yes indeedy...criminals and thieves and welfare and medical theives ...I could go on, but I won't.

I quite understand your anger...we all feel it...and when they have someone like Hernandez on so he can spread more propaganda..free of charge, of course...I just can't bear it...I turn off the tv.

I hadn't watched O'Reilly in a while...and I guess it will be a while longer before I attempt it again...

Lou Dobbs tells it like it is...and gets passionate about the betrayal of the people by this corrupt government....I think perhaps in the next few days he's going to give us some hints on how to handle this...I've called, faxed, emailed...

I was really happy to see Rep. King on Dobbs tonight...he sez they will never get an amnesty passed...whew..I certainly hope so...but then on the other hand the status quo cannot be long sustained, either.

I've only seen this guy a few times and he gets on my last nerve "my friend"

these people are so twisted, even the title of his book :

"The New American Pioneers: Why Are We Afraid of Mexican Immigrants?"

why aren't they Mexican pioneers? and they 're not immigrants.

he also talks about "our government" -- he has TWO governments

Any person in Border Patrol that notified the Mexican Government as to where our citizens were guarding the borders needs to be fired and prosecuted for Treason.

If the Border Patrol wants to inform on American Citizens to a Mexican Government, then obviously the Border Patrol has the time and contacts to inform on Mexican Citizens crossing our borders illegally to the Mexican Government.

It's time for payback. It's time to bill Mexico for a every single dime these people cost American Citizens...and it's time for Mexico to come get their people once we catch them.

We need to make this happen.

It literally makes me sick, makes me gag, makes me, I can't say what lastely what it makes me want to do, thinking our own border patrol are calling Mecxico and telling them where the minutemen are located! I cannot believe the level our country has fallen to! I mean our government and congress to be more exact. I have always heard the expression "I am sick to my soul" and not really understood completely what that means. now I know exactally what that means. I feel like our present administration, congress, and our oh so new and not worth one red dime ,homeland security, are completely perverted, totally insane, traitors, and snakes in the grass> Have I left anything out? I am so sick and ashamed of myself for defending this administration like an idiot for the past 5or 6 yrs, People, I feel like I have been raped, I cannot think of a better word then that! Last night, I was at a school about 45 miles from where I live in okla, attending a honors banquet for my 13 yr old grandaughter. I had placed about 75 fliers on vehicles total waste of time, with 2 and 1/2 inches of rain and wind, we had just started to eat when a tornado drill was called, we were all herded to the hallway, no lights electricity knocked out, being told a possible tornado was right over us and you know what, I was in such shock from just hearing the news about our minutemen being betrayed by our own government, for the first time in my life, I really didn't care what happened to me. I did care for my grandaughters life but as for me I just said whatever, I couldn't even begin to say a prayer, I was so angry and depressed. I have always tried to be an optimistic person but I have to admit friends, I am scared, of what is happening to my United States of America!

The minutemen are growing, I don't think they want this group to become to large, there tactics are wrong, the more they try to get rid of them the more people will join up. I feel like I am living in a communist country, this sure doesn't look like a democracy. We have gone from a lawful land to an unlawful land.

Once again, our opposition has done the work for us.

Anyone see a pattern here? Most of these OBL are like the damn coyote trying to catch the road runner. They keep getting caught in their own traps.

dont be sorry for being angry about this jeff...its your duty as a proud loyal american. as long as we keep our anger under wraps...more like a seething determinism we will prevail. i worry that they are trying to bait us into making tactical errors as they have. as long as we stay above the fray and fight this in the minds of the voting citizens and in the halls of government and not in the streets as lawlessness we can't lose. i have to believe this or i would feel hopeless. welcome and thanks for caring about this... more of us every day

William, can this actually be considered treason? Can the Minutemen press this issue? I could understand their hesitation to spend the energy in this direction, getting off the path of border patroling though.

It is time to get rid of the Bush administration. If for no other reason as a signal and a transfer of power.
