    Obama
    Never mind

I like Fred...Romney makes me uneasy..bragging about raising fees fines and penalties..the hidden taxes ...but I will probably support Romney if the Choice is Obama/Romney or Romney/McCain
Will see how well Fred does in South Carolina..

I agree that Huckabee overall would be terrible on illegal immigration, and I am not buying his sudden semi-conversion on this issue along with most everyone on this site.

But Numbers states that these 'excellent' ratings are based on stances, not past record (past action) for which he rightfully gets a "bad."

For perhaps the most important stance IMO (and which is listed first) for the 'no amnesty' (attrition through enforcement) pledge, Huckabee only gets a 'fair.' (although I agree this is debatable)

Also, I think Romney will be ok if he comes in a fairly strong second tomorrow in NH especially after his win in Wyoming.

Ron Paul actually voted to increase legal immigration as well-----and voted to give foreigners jobs over US citizens!!

Do you want to see the voting records??

During Saturday's GOP debate, Mitt Romney denied comparing John McCain's immigration policy to amnesty. But two of Romney's ads make that comparison. Kelly Cobiella reports.

    Video: http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/evening ... 3420.shtml

Romney is apologizing for saying McCain supported ‘amnesty’ in the debate last night. Said he was wrong to call it amnesty. He had an ad that called it amnesty, but said he had not seen the ad and has canceled it because McCain’s plan should not have been called amnesty.

    ALSO!

DUNCAN HUNTER RATED EXCELLENT, AHEAD OF ALL THE OTHERS BY NUMBERS USA, Jan. 5, 2008

HUNTER has 9 EXCELLENTS (the rest all GOOD), compared to the next 6 Excellents (One Poor) of Fred Thompson. Hunter is WAY ahead of he rest of them that are left in the race. Ron Paul earned only one 'excellent' and several 'poor' and 'bad' ratings. Romney is Bad....I hope Tancredo is proud of himself!
This is because McCain kept INSISTING that it was not amnesty----because they had to pay $5000, learn English----blah blah blah......Therefore, McCain kept saying that Romney's "attack ads" were false.

Romney is seriously lacking in the intestinal fortitude necessary to hold the highest office in our land. The man flips, flops, and waffles more like there is no tomorrow. The man is nothing more than a slick politician. He needs to understand that it's impossible to please all of the people all the time. You just can't pander to everyone and expect to maintain credibility. Romney was right in calling McCain's plan amnesty, why didn't he have the guts to stick with it?
Again........Because McCain kept INSISTING that Romney was lying during the debates----because McCain said.........."it really isn't amnesty" because they have to pay $5000, learn English, etc.

Did you not watch the debates??

    Hey Bren,
Would you do me a favor, since you are definitely a Romney supporter, and I can appreciate that, would you call his campaign and ask his position on SPP for me. We are doing a straw poll here in Arkansas and would love to know his view.
    Thanks

Wow, your answer really took me aback, I have already contacted most of the campaings, and have not heard back. Your attitude really threw me for a loop, and although I support Ron I am not doing the speech on him at our straw poll, I would have chosen to do Duncan Hunter, but he did not get on our ballot, made me really sad, cause he is my heavy 2nd.

Again, sorry if offended you by asking for help. OK here is another way to ask, do you as a Romney supporter know his view on SPP?
