    Montana's election!

I believe that Montana's senator Burns voted against amnesty for illegals and against CAFTA as welll. I believe Montana's lone congressman, Denny Rehberg voted exactly the same? Both are Republicans and are in tough re-election bids. William, these two should be mentioned in your endorsements section and money from the anti-illegal organizations should be headed up to Montana to helpp these two get re-elected.

BTW A vote for just about ANY Democrat is a vote FOR amnesty and more immigrants both legal and illegal!

We sent out surveys to all candidates. Some didn't respond so couldn't be considered for endorsement. Others fell a little short of what we're looking for in a strong immigration candidate. In some cases persons might have to go for as close as they can get to our ideal candidate.

    Here's their records.

After reviewing the voting records, it would appear Rep. Conrad Burns has the potential of being a strong supporter of a guest worker program. As you know, almost any guest worker program crafted at this time will more than likely offer a path to legalization too. Has he came out publicly and stated he is against a guest worker program?

    Votes of interest:

Voted for huge increase in 1990

Sen. Burns helped pass legislation in 1990 that increased the numbers in all categories of immigration. America’s immigration tradition had been around 250,000 immigrants a year until the 1980s when numbers rose dramatically to more than 500,000 a year. After Sen. Burns voted in 1990 in favor of raising limits, immigration has now snowballed to around 1,000,000 (one million) a year, contributing the majority of U.S. population and labor growth, congestion and sprawl.

Voted against amendment to cap employment-based visas in 2006

Sen. Burns voted against the Bingaman Amendment (SA 4131) to to S. 2611, the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006. The Bingaman Amendment would cap the number of employment-based visas for workers, spouses and children at 650,000. Robert Rector of the Heritage Foundation estimates that the Bingaman Amendment would reduce employment-based visas available under S. 2611 by about 150,000 a year. The Bingaman Amendment passed by a vote of 51 to 47.

Voted against amendment to limit proposed guestworker program in 2006

Sen. Burns voted against the Dorgan Amendment (SA 4095) to S. 2611, the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006. The Dorgan Amendment would have prohibited the issuance of new H-2C "guestworker" visas after five years, but authorized DHS to continue to extend the authorized stay of an H-2C alien after that date. This would have reduced the number of new guestworkers under S. 2611 from two million to one million (200,000 per year for five years instead of 10 years). The Dorgan Amendment failed by a vote of 48 to 49.

Voted in favor of amendment to create additional guestworker visa categories in 2006

Sen. Burns voted in favor of the Hutchison Amendment (SA 4101) to S. 2611, the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006. The Hutchison Amendment would require the State Department to grant a Secure Authorized Foreign Employee (SAFE) visa to a national of a NAFTA or CAFTA nation who meets specified requirements. The "E" visa is already a visa for treaty-trader countries, thus the Hutchison Amendment would have just created more unnecessary "guestworker" categories. The Hutchison Amendment failed by a vote of 31 to 67.

This guys has guest worker program supporter and lover written all over him.

I'm not saying he shouldn't get your vote, that would depend upon his opponent.

Did Conrad Burns vote in favor or against the last AMNESTY vote in the senate? He voted against the CAFTA agreement because it will hurt Montana sugarbeet growers.

Is this ALIPAC American for LEGAL immigration or is it really Americans against anymore immigration especially if you speak Spanish?

Maybe the record on Burns is unclear but what is the record on MOntana's other senator Baucus a DEMOCRAT? The Burns challenger Tester will be worse than Burns on immigration and what about Rehberg the Congressman.

now it's becoming obvious that you've NOT even searched thru ALIPAC's site as you've missed a great deal of information. Might want to get yourself up to speed before you attempt being negative towards our work.

We are not playing the lesser of two evils game at ALIPAC.

Our volunteers and resources will only go to support those we feel confident will stand with our platform.

The government's refusal to seal the border and enforce the law is what is depressing. Who is Ethan Fromme?

There will be some form of amnesty in the future whether ALIPAC likes it or not. I do not. This government will not spend 100 Billion dollars to round up and deport 12 to 25 million illegals and most ain't going back to apply for a guest worker program.

Alipac's best hope is to get the border patrol up to 30,000 members and get some corporate leaders in jail. Build the fences too! The government will grant amnesty because the government can make 20 Billion in penalty fees that the amnesty program will generate.

The best that Tancredo and Sennsenbrenner can do is get the border sealed. I am afraid that it is too late for those 12 to 25 million illegals that are here now. I think Tom understands this.....

Deportations on a massive scale will not work but fences, more agents and jail terms for those that hire illegals might work in the future but we were told this in 86 right?

I have been watching this for 20 years long before you southern belles in NC even had a clue of any of this. I don't like it but I don't the politicians really doing anything about the problem. I see more and more illegals in Colorado every day.

    Good luck!
