I don't want anymore foreign oil! Supposedly, they have been "mining" the oil sands, in Utah, I believe. I haven't heard one more thing about that.

This is the same type that Canada has been "mining" for a while and is a big find up there.

We have it, it just takes a gusty politician that will tell the greenies to take a flying leap.

And Washington better get a grip on China owning our debt, we are funding China's new weapons and army, by buying their junk they send in here!
Do not vote for Party this year, vote for America and American workers!

Oil for Immigrants is a real deal. I don't have time this morning to pull the stuff out of the archives, but I know it is there and I will try to find it before tomorrow.

Have you seen any of Walter Burien's research into the CAFRs?
Haven't even heard of it. That's a perfect example of why it's good for me to get out of my own board and have discussions with other folks. I'm learning about some things that are unfamiliar to me.

So again I ask...What happens with all the debt the U.S. has if all the countries who carry our debt notes say "PAY UP"?
If I'm not mistaken they already have their hands on some of our toll roads etc. for the next 100 years. They'll probably barter us away.

Trading amnesty for illegal aliens in exchange for Mexican oil may be a pig in a poke in more ways than one. There are indications that at least one of Mexico's oil fields is on the way out in terms of production.

Will Mexico Soon Be Tapped Out?
A rapid demise of Cantarell, the country's chief oil field, could pose a serious economic threat.

    July 24, 2006

MEXICO CITY — Output at Mexico's most important oil field has fallen steeply this year, raising fears that wells there that generate 60% of the country's petroleum are in the throes of a major decline.

Production at Cantarell, the world's second-largest oil complex, in the shallow gulf waters off the shore of Mexico's southern Campeche state, averaged just over 1.8 million barrels a day in May, according to the most recent government figures. That's a 7% drop from the first of the year and the lowest monthly output since July 2005, when Hurricane Emily forced the evacuation of thousands of oil workers from the region.

Though analysts have long forecast the withering of this mature field, a rapid demise would pose serious challenges for the world's No. 5 oil producer. The oil field has supplied the bulk of Mexico's oil riches for the last quarter of a century, and petroleum revenue funds more than a third of federal spending.

"Cantarell is going to fall a lot, and quickly," said independent consultant Guillermo Cruz Dominguez Vargas, a former executive with Mexico's state-owned oil monopoly, Petroleos Mexicanos, known as Pemex. "I can't imagine the strain on this society if there is nothing to replace it."

This is a question I keep hearing my husband yell at the TV set during Bush speeches and during the news. I'm hearing him bring it up at least 3 or 4 times week now.
