I gotta agree with Testament. Unless the article identified the suspect as an illegal alien, I don't think we should be posting it.

Wait a minute here. Since when does the media ever use the term illegal alien? Hardly ever if at all. Most of the time the media likes to substitute the words illegal alien with the following which are all tip offs:

1. Immigrants
2. Undocumented workers
3. Willing workers
4. Undocumented immigrants
5. Sometimes they'll say illegal immigrants (sometimes)
6. Guest workers
7. (Name of foreign country) nationals (example Mexican nationals)

That's some of the terms that I can think of at the moment, but just because the media doesn't say illegal alien doesn't mean that person is legal either. We should know better than anyone how the media likes to hide/distort the facts and use code words to throw readers off.

For the time being I'm going to lock this discussion since there is no evidence the suspect is an illegal immigrant from any of the news articles. Besides another discussion has now been started to try and determine his immigration status. I don't see the point on having 2 different threads devoted to this topic. I believe William would prefer to have crime articles that actually confirm illegal immigrants were involved. Maybe he can weigh in to clear up the confusion in this area. Testament is right.

Although there is over a 50% chance this guy is illegal because over 50% of all Hispanics now in NC are here illegally (and that percentage is increasing daily) such items should not be posted till the status of the perp is identified.

It is also true that this guy has the rape, pilliage, take, steal mentality that most illegal alien's have but he still could be legal.

If he is here legally and has immigrated then I want to see what went wrong with his background checks and if they were done properly. I seriously doubt that a guy like this has just now started his crime spree for the first time.

Also, I want the word VERMIN off of the boards from now on.

I know a lot of you are very angry about this issue but illegal aliens are not VERMIN. They are people. They may not be nice people. They may be violent and criminal, but they are not VERMIN. Vermin are rats and bugs and things that humans exterminate. That term is also used quite frequently by the fringe groups that are out there so I'm adding the word to our rule list and I do not want it used anymore on our site.
