    Bob Barr-Question for ALIPAC Members

Do you know his stands on illegal alien issues?

I like him on fairtax, but I don't like the fact that he worked for ACLU. I think he is a good man who stands for something. Would you vote for him?

Instead of McCain, yes, but I haven't yet decided what to do with my protest vote.

I don't know about you, but my number one issue is illegal alien.

    Second, tax and third education

I really, really want to know Barr's stands on my number one issue.

I hate to say this, but I think Obama will be the president. It's inevitable
because people are angry and split.

Here's what he says on his website about the issue of "Secure our Borders." I haven't researched his views on IAs in detail, but I'm not overly impressed by this:
    --------

    Secure the Borders

*The current platform of the Libertarian Party paints a bright and accurate picture regarding the issue of immigration: "Our borders are currently neither open, closed, nor secure. This situation restricts the labor pool, encouraging employers to hire undocumented workers, while leaving those workers neither subject to nor protected by the law. A completely open border allows foreign criminals, carriers of communicable diseases, terrorists and other potential threats to enter the country unchecked. Pandering politicians guarantee access to public services for undocumented aliens, to the detriment of those who would enter to work productively, and increasing the burden on taxpayers."

*Resolving this issue will be a challenge for America as it means that we must be aggressive in securing our borders while at the same time, vigilantly fighting the nanny state that seeks to coddle even those capable of providing for their own personal prosperity. *

*Until all governments are willing to take a unified front to confront this problem, it is the duty of the federal government to secure our borders from criminals, terrorists and those seeking to take advantage of the American taxpayer.

Thank, Populist! He wants to close the boarder, but he does not sacrifice our freedom? He can be confusing sometime.

I know I seen a thread about Bob Barr and other guy. Found it. It was only about the other guy so I won't post link.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"As long as the LP purists, so often in attendance at the conventions, can hold their noses and realize that legal immigration is so vitally key, that with a favorite son like Ron Paul, it is off to the races and the White House is the limit."

I am unsure of the message the author of this gramatically-flawed and inarticulate sentence is attempting to convey with this sentence. However, I do know that leading members of the Libertarian Party have in the past supported a path to citizenship for illegal aliens, i.e. amnesty. Further, I do not agree that this country needs more legal immigration. This nation needs less legal immigration.

In the case of Republican Ron Paul, he voted three (3) times for Section 245(i) amnesty for hundreds of thousands illegal aliens. He also voted seven (7) times against allowing the United States military to aid the United States Border Patrol in border control efforts. Ron Paul voted against a border fence before he voted for a border fence. He believes a border fence is "offensive".

I will not vote for a candidate that considers a border fence to be "offensive

I know he runs on the Libertarian Party ticket, but DOES he also believe in "supported a path to citizenship for illegal aliens, i.e. amnesty"? I used to like him alot. I wish I could vote for him

Barr supports a path to citizenship for illegal aliens. There is a thread on his position regarding illegal immigration and border security around here (ALIPAC) somewhere.

Well there goes my vote, mickey mouse is looking better every day.

Do you think that main stream America is really ready for a third party candidate ?

Maybe if we had a viable person running.
We can't deport them all ? Just think of the fun we could have trying!

I actually think any strong republican third party candidate has a great shot. I have not spoken with one person who is happy with their choices this year.
