How about a "critter cam" type setup for Mountain Dog? Maybe as part of his vest?

One of the interesting things I noticed was the illegals were carrying their shoes and walking in their socks so they did not leave tracks that are easy to follow but that doesn't stop a dogs nose.

No doubt, but it won't do them any good!
There's been a lot of research done on how and what a dog can smell, lots of theorys but nobody knows for sure.
I was at an event one time with my SaR dog, there was at least a thousand people there and the wind was blowing from the east when my dog alerted to something in the west, two minutes later my daughter walked up, so how did my dog know she was there?
Several times my dog and I have been outside when he will scent the air then go sit down and watch the driveway and five minutes later my wife drives in, we live a mile from a paved road so he can tell when my wife is out there in a truck.
I don't know how they do it but I have learned to trust my dogs.
