In front of us at the restaurant, paying out was a family, very well dressed, but seemed to speak no English. My husband translated for him something about his check. I told my husband the man was just refusing to speak English and he said no that he was sure the man could not speak English.

My husband did say, "From looking at his hands, that man never did a day's work (physical labor) in his life." The walked out and got in a new Dodge van. I have been trying to tell people these are not all just poor laborers - these are white collar, middle class people. Guess whose job they got???
I agree. I've noticed that here in as well. The biased media would have you believe the illegals are all starving, poor and down trodden. This is to wring sympathy for them. Open your eyes and look at the truth. In many large cities the illegals drive fancy cars and live in middle class comfort. They've taken over this state, including a goodly share of the houses and property. Many rent or even crowd together, but just as many own lovely homes, and prime real estate. Think about it, before they jump the border just HOW do they manage to pay the coyote 2 grand, 3 grand from their pitiful Mexican wages ? Every illegal here is not a poor laborer. There are many we would consider middle class and even educated.

So this whine about how pitiful every illegal's life is just doesn't fly. Take a look at their kids walking home from school in designer shoes. See the family shopping for a big screen tv. Do some gamble away their days in casinos? Of course.

How do they get by? Do they save and save and once in a while blow all their money on luxury items, like cars? Maybe they have businesses. Could there be another source of income maybe not so legal? I think mainly they save becaise they pay no taxes, get all kinds of free benefits and are not checked up on to see if they really qualify. So they have more discretionary income to spend. Many get into high paying jobs which some poor shmuck American wasn't willing to do.
And that's the story the media doesn't want you to know.

Very well written and deals with all of my concerns. Why can't we get our elected officials to wake up and take notice that they are out of touch with their voters? I like your solutions...lets shove this up to the congress and demand they act now!

because these people cook their meals, clean their houses, wash their clothes, clean their pools, cut their grass, care for their kids and keep up their golf courses

If the founding fathers were alive there would have been a war against mexico and the current US Government would have been over thrown!

A lot of people have blogs and websites. Mellingerman is on our side. Even if some of us don't agree with every point he makes he is still on OUR side. IMHO I say the more the merrier. Open dialogue, look for creative ideas.

Anyway, hope he puts a link to ALIPAC on his site. We will need as many concerned citizens as we can find to defeat those ignoramuses who pass for politicians. We should network with everyone who is concerned on this issue unless they are absolutely nuts. Excuse me, correction, we DONT need to network with MECHA or AZZTlan, oh but I already qualified that.
