This sounds like a really horrible disease with no cure. I do not think I would wish that on anyone. It is tragic that poor womans son commited suicide which she believes was due to having this disease. I truly feel that we will have some sort of pandemic in the near future and with globalization it will spread like wildfire I just hope that there will be a cure before millions die of it. I have had fears about this type of situation for years.

I wouldn't wish it on anyone either. It sounds like it would drive people crazy, for a lot of reasons.

I'm looking further into it...I'm really trying to find out when/where it started again...but it's world-wide. It won't hurt my feelings at all if someone finds it and posts it before me.

Haven't found out yet, but I have to wonder if those filiments are only on the skin or are throughout the body and brain. Dear God in Heaven!

The first thing I think of is a fungus. There was a couple I went to church with a while ago and they both had this fungus, they were really tired and sick, and had other symptons, mainly fatigue.

I think they had skin problems of some sort, but not sure I remember what they were. I do remember everyone spending many Wednesday night services praying for them. They eventually got better. Then they moved to be closer to family.

Might have been the same thing. I hold fast to this, a fungus. It can be really an isidious thing, any time you hear of people having these kind of infections. And thinking if antibiotics help ,then it is an infection. The fuzz might be basically spores trying to do what spores do.

This was probably brought up from Mexico and Central America. These people may have a little immunity to it,as they have been brought up there. Just like with the Europenas had with some of the diseases they brought with them to America. Think about it, the natives had never encountered it so they were very ill from these dieases. something similar could be happeining.

You bring massive undocumented people from one country into another, without having any medical checks, and you get these third world diseases and infections that have never been here before, because we have better sanitation, and it flourishes just due to the new hosts inabilities to fight it off.

Yep, I too hope that all those socialists and illegal supporters are the first to suffer and the only. Payback for trying to undermine what is right. But....I would not want to wish such things on people, it's not right. "Vengeance is mine saith the Lord".

My first guess is that this is some kind of retrovirus that affects the nerve endings and hair follicle cells.

I though the same thing about Revelations when I read about sores that will not heal.

Do we have a global map? If this is more prevalent in the Southern states then perhaps it is more common in the tropical regions as many diseases are?

We're thinking maybe something to do with cruise ship lines? Seems these states have similar things in common: high poplulations, high illegal populations, cruise ship ports, warmer climates. HOWEVER, San Francisco doesn't have a warm climate -- seldom reaches 80 degrees.
