One fact to be noted about the NAFTA Super Highway is that it has 10 lanes. Why would a highway (even a continental super highway) need that many lanes?

In South Korea the roads are designed have large amounts of lanes so that if there is a military situation the roads can be used as airstrips.

Could there be an agenda here?
