Thread: NAMES re: open borders

2ndamendsis suggested starting this thread in response to my comment that it might be time to "start naming names and holding people accountable" for our open borders. Sort of a Rogue's Gallery. Top on my list is Senator Teddy Kennedy. In 1964 he pushed a whopper of a bill through Congress that completely revamped our immigration laws. Before Kennedy's bill we were averaging about 200,000 legal immigrants per year, and virtually no illegal immigrants. After Kennedy's bill...well, just look around you.

Maybe we could do daily up-dates: Here's my candidate for "Open Border Man of the Day" for May 2: Josh Bernstein of the National Immigration Law Center, an "immigrant-advocacy organization in Los Angeles." I'm sure many of you have read the frontpage article about illegals in todays USATODAY. And I'd like to commend the great job that our fearless leader, Mr Gheen, has been doing in the very difficult position as point-man for this issue. Of course the article was typically slanted: With support against illegal immigration surging at about a 70-30 split in virtually every public opinion poll, the USATODAY keeps implying its a 50-50 split with Americans "torn" down the middle on this issue. And the frontpage article ends with a whopper from ole Josh: "When you isolate and alienate...thats not good for society," says Josh Bernstein, an ambulance-chasin', race-card playin' lawyer who hears the ka-CHING of the cash-register every time he hears the words "immigrants rights." "You're forcing people out of legal channels and into illegal ones," sobs Josh, his liberal heart breaking from excess bleeding and compassion-overdose. Get that: YOU and ME are responsible for "forcing" these illegal immigrants into their "illegal" behavior. How dare we "force" these people to obey our laws. Somebody get a lawyer quick. And the USATODAY deems this clap-trap quote as newsworthy of the frontpage!
