NCLR HONORS SENATOR TOM HARKIN AND REPRESENTATIVE JOHN BOEHNER AT 2006 NCLR CAPITAL AWARDS GALA

Radio Tropical to Receive Public Service Award for Broadcasts to Hurricane Victims

Washington, DC – The National Council of La Raza (NCLR), the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the U.S., will honor Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) and Representative John Boehner (R-OH) at the 2006 NCLR Capital Awards gala on Tuesday, March 7 at the National Building Museum in Washington, DC.

Senator Harkin and Representative Boehner will be recognized for their work in Congress on behalf of the Latino community on issues such as education and child nutrition. NCLR will also present the Public Service Award to Ernesto Alejandro Schweikert of Radio Tropical (KGLA-1540 AM), which broadcasts from Meraux, Louisiana. Radio Tropical kept the Spanish-speaking population in New Orleans informed during and after the Hurricane Katrina disaster and connected families, publicized job opportunities, and protected Hispanic workers.

The black-tie gala is open to members of the public who have reserved tickets in advance; prices range from $350 per individual ticket to $10,000 for a Premier Sponsorship table. The gala begins with a reception at 5:30 p.m., which is followed by the awards program and dinner at 6:50 p.m. The gala main entrance is located on G Street, and valet parking is available for $15. For tickets or table sponsorships

What a surprise that Bush got his guy just in time for the FTAA vote and overriding HR 4437.

This is a disgusting development. John Boehner is one of 12 republicans that voted against HR 4437

He is an open borders pro Illegal immigrant hack.
Is this Mexico or the USA
