I wonder how many "latinos" were "helped" by NCLR's "outreach" mortgage programs?
Laraza hooked them up with the banks who lent them the $$ to buy those homes..HUGE fail.
Asset Development Initiative (ADI)
Overview
NCLR’s Asset Development Initiative (ADI), through its public policy work, aims to tackle the barriers to wealth that hardworking Latino families face each day. In 2000 the overall wealth gap between Hispanic and White households stood at 8 to 1 ($9,750 vs. $79,400 respectively). The wealth gap increased to 12 to 1 if home equity is excluded. Like other American families, Hispanics seek to prosper economically and strengthen their families financially. The Initiative seeks to enhance these values and to develop and advance a comprehensive and practical policy agenda that addresses key areas of asset-building policy including pension coverage, homeownership, retirement security, savings, and access to bank accounts and affordable credit.
