Hey how bout we devide mexico four ways and add four new states? There's gold in them thar hills.

It would actually be cheaper for us to absorb Mexico than have the situation we are in now, and in the long run, would probably be a better deal for the citizens of Mexico. Their laws dissaude outside investment and real estate purchase in their country which is one of the primary reasons they are wallowing in poverty. Sadly though, rather than hold their own country accountable for mismanagement, they choose to steal jobs from Americans to support their own failing economy, and I think the primary reason for this, is they don't really want a lot of us coming down to their country and buying up the place, even if it meant they would have a better life for themselves and their children. A recent Pew report showed that over 60 percent of Mexicans here illegally actually have plans to buy/build a home down in Mexico at some point in the future.

In short, they want to earn their American Dream on the backs of American, and then take their money and eventually transfer it back to Mexico. Curious...has any economist figured out what the effects of that balloon popping will be here in America? Imagine if you will say fifteen or twenty years out when these folks that have been here illegally all along decide they have earned enough to close up shop and head back across the border from where they came with all their loot in tow. Lets day each of them in that time had managed to save through home equity, investments and savings $50,000. Twenty million citizens suddenly withdrawing their funds and heading home would be and over night drain on our economy into the TRILLIONS of dollars. Trust me, us old folks might not live to see this reality, but I would bet the farm our children will.

So, if we were smart, our President would go to this meeting with President Fox and say..."Look, we cannot grant your citizens Amnesty, there is no quest worker program, but what we are willing to do, is take Mexico and make it our 51st state, but that means it plays by the same rules the rest of America plays by.
