North Korea could attack US with nukes ANY DAY, Russia warns – as top politician slams Donald Trump for provoking Kim Jong-un

The warning comes after the US Navy force said it is moving near the Korean peninsula

DONALD Trump’s move to send warships near the Korean peninsula could provoke a “rash” response from North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, Russia has warned.

It comes after a US navy said it had sent a strike near North Korea as tensions mount in a show of force against North Korea’s “reckless” nuclear weapons programme.

A senior Moscow politician claimed that after the US strike on Syria with Tomahawk missiles, North Korea could launch an attack at any day.

Senator Viktor Ozerov, chairman Russian upper house’s defence and security committee, said: “In case Pyongyang sees a threat to its security in the US Navy naval presence, it might push the North Korean leadership to further rash action.

He claimed: After Trump’s action in Syria, a US strike on North Korea is possible. Such a risk is not ruled out.

He added: “The US strike on the airbase of the Syrian armed forces, which was not unanimously condemned in the UN Security Council, was explained by threat to the US national security.

“And North Korea can be perceived in Washington as an even bigger threat.”

Ozerov – seen as close to Vladimir Putin – stressed that the United States carried out strikes on Syria’s airfield using alleged chemical attack in Idlib as a pretext.

He said: “North Korea did not sign the convention on chemical weapons prohibition. It might provoke Trump’s strike on North Korea.”

Trump’s move is seen as putting Pyongyang on warning over its refusal to abandon its nuclear ambitions.

Last Wednesday, North Korea reportedly launched a ballistic missile from Sinpho, South Hamgyong province, in the direction of the Sea of Japan.

The country has carried out five nuclear tests – two of them last year – and expert satellite imagery analysis suggests it could well be preparing for a sixth.

North Korea denounced the US strike on Syria as an act of “intolerable aggression” and one that justified “a million times over” its own push toward a credible nuclear deterrent.

Trump ordered the revenge hit against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad after dozens died in a suspected chemical gas attack in Idlib province.

Shocking pictures from the location of the attack included a sobbing father clinging on to the bodies of his dead children.

Trump retaliated to the attack, which he described as “an affront to humanity” by launching strikes on a Syrian airbase with the US ambassador to the United Nations saying the country is “prepared to do more”.

Following US action KCNA news agency quoted an unnamed spokesman for the North Korean foreign ministry as saying: “The US missile attack against Syria is a clear and intolerable act of aggression against a sovereign state and we strongly condemn it.

“The reality of today shows that we must stand against power with power and it proves a million times over that our decision to strengthen our nuclear deterrence has been the right choice.”

Not unless Kim Jong-Un has a death wish.

I think Trump is got the right idea with North Korea, but he is really screwing up something awful with the Russians. Of course he has plenty of help and encouragement in this.

He is really making a bad show of it, I hope this doesn't keep up, things like the anecdote he shared in an interview where he bragged that he announced to the President of China that he had just bombed "Iraq" while admiring a "most beautiful piece of chocolate cake". Really, really bad Mr. President. This is not a reality television program. You can't "do over". What was worse, the actual event, or him reporting it on Fox?

If nuclear weapons get unleashed, will it matter which side has the 'death wish' - the results will be the same for both sides.

No, it the results would not be the same. We are capable of annihilating North Korea. Kim Jong-Un does not have the capabilities of retaliating in kind.

It might be imagined that the thing might escalate into a local nuclear war if China got involved, but there are reports that China has its own concerns over North Korea and is poised to protect its borders with North Korea. Would it surprise anyone to learn that China has an illegal immigrant problem out of North Korea? The border is very porous and hard to police. And of course people are dying to get out, but crossing South across the DMZ zone it not an option.

Did you know that in the prison camps run by the North Koreans, people can get married and raise families and the offspring of the prison camp marriages are also consider political prisoners? Is that weird or what?

Also, there really isn't enough evidence coming out of North Korea to suggest they pose any kind of nuclear threat. Not yet, but no sense waiting around until they do. We have enough problems with Iran.
