Thread: THIS IS NOT GOOD!

I want to see the details of this supposed deal they have reached, I am sure it still involves "earned citizenship" (amnesty) for these illegals and no realistic provision to secure our borders. I also think they should put this to a vote with american citizens and not make this law without our consent as we are the one that will have to pay for it with our tax dollars.

The last time I checked Senators were paid a FEDERAL salary from my federal tax dollars. When they are elected to the senate they are supposed to represent the people of the United States, not just their "voter base"

Exactly. I just wrote Teddy and Frist and said that very thing. Talking about immigration reform is ludicrous until the borders are secured. That is all they should be focusing on right now. The mention of amnesty just significantly increases the number of border jumpers.

Border enforcement has increased dramatically from 1990 to 2004. The budget for the Border Patrol has increased from $263 million in 1990 to $1.6 billion today - a six-fold increase. During this period, between 480,000 and 660,000 undocumented immigrants entered the U.S. each year. In all, nearly 9 million have arrived since 1990. Our immigration system is broken, and enforcement alone will not fix it.

This must be why so many have managed to sneak across during the past 5 years. Keep an eye peeled, when word of this gets down around the border states, we will see a stream of crossings.

I wonder if Teddy and the others feel that as part of this entitlement to the illegals, we Americans should continue picking up the tab for social services?

There are probably tens of thousands of mexicans positioned at the border at this very moment. The idiots in the senate have just given them
the "go" sign. How disgusting!!!!!

That is right Sailor, the run for the border is now on with a fervor, knowing that they will get amnesty by the end of this month. Thanks alot senators, may you rot in hell for destroying our country.

Our "neighbors" are exporting their poorest, illiterate citizens to our country. Our "neighbors" are a big part of the problem and they don't want it fixed.

Oh yes, our senators are very interested in what we, who put them in office, have to say about this U.S. altering illegal invasion. [insert sarcasm here]

Of the hundreds of faxes, phone calls, and letters I have written to my senators and reps, until last week I had only received a single form letter reply from Mike Castle (rep). I was actually a little excited when a letter from Joe Bidens office arrived in the mail on Monday.

Imagine my surprise when I opened it only to discover it was a response to a single fax I had sent, at the behest of the Humane Society, regarding a bill that would allow animal rescue groups broader access in diasaster areas. By the way, he was in FULL support of that!

Has anyone heard anything about this on the news? I have been watching cnn and also listening to the bill riley show and I have heard nothing about it.
