Obamacare Advocate: Make Refusniks Wear Gold Stickers

Method of persecuting people who refuse to buy mandatory health care invokes holocaust imagery

A leading advocate of Obamacare told NPR yesterday that Americans who refuse to pay for health care should be forced to wear gold stickers on their foreheads and refused emergency hospital treatment, in a chilling throwback to how Jews were persecuted by being made to wear yellow stars by the Nazis during the occupation of Europe.

In an article carried on the NPR website entitled Alternatives To Mandating Insurance? Maybe, Dr. Len Nichols, Professor of Health Policy and Director of the Center for Health Policy Research and Ethics at George Mason University, and a staunch advocate of mandatory health care, came up with a novel idea “to make the consequences of not having insurance even more dramatic.â€

I don't see his comments so far off personally. Now I don't support obamacare for many reasons top being forcing people to buy a product along with all the trash in it and the waivers give out to liberal buddies.

But seriously if you don't wish to buy health insurance and don't have the cash on hand for treatment why should anyone get care? Now no waivers, no medicaid, no special deals. If you cannot pay for a service or didn't think ahead to have insurance for when it becomes needed why do you deserve care? Have cash in hand or sign the title to your house, care, land or whatever of high value over if you don't have insurance as collateral.

Now its not right to force someone into buying a product but what about personal responsibility as well? A large reason of why insurance is so high is do to uninsured people in one way or another. For instance currently the majority of Americans w/o employer healthcare who are young and healthy forgo health insurance. They don't pay into a system designed to pay in while healthy and pay out when sick. However they demand access to insurance once they get sick when it will only pay them rather then them ever really paying in. This raises insurance costs. Then insurance costs are raised once again as hospitals to recoup some of the losses for ER care and other things insurance doesn't pay back (especially medicaid) raise prices to offset that loss. Now those price increases raise insurance as well.

Its like a 401K. You can't just wait until your 60 and close to retirement to put $100k in your 401K and demand that you get 40 years of 401K interest addons because you deserve the same 401K as someone who was putting in since they were 20.

With that in mind it only makes sense if you get insurance when you are diagnosed with a serious illness and expect insurance to pay you pay significantly more or even get denied.

Keep in mind Hospitals and Insurance are both a business. We after all chose a private industry for making profit. And there is a proper way to do so.

Have a an insurance 5 year gap where between 21-26 one can buy insurance w/o penalties. If you maintained insurance for at least 2/3's of the past 3 years you can switch w/o any penalty. But if you wish to forgo cash in hand of carrying insurance your choice should not be someone else's burden.
