Who knows how many do not want to be citizens, they just want to work and send money home. Those people would just continue 'living in the shadows' as politicians often say without much concern of being deported. They aren't stupid and we aren't either.

WH Meeting To Legalize Illegal Immigrants

Preoccupied with healthcare and expanding government, President Obama is still working full throttle to shove through an immigration reform bill prior to the midterm elections because Latino groups have threatened to withhold votes for Democratic candidates.

To appease the influential La Raza movement, the commander-in-chief met privately with his staff this week to devise a measure that will grant United States citizenship to the country’s estimated 11 million illegal immigrants, according to a major newspaper that published interesting tidbits about the secret gathering.

Among them is that the administration has planned a huge immigration rally in Washington D.C. later this month to “spotlight the issue and build needed momentum.â€

Update on the amnesty wars in los Angeles and California:

The May 1st 2009 immigration marches were a joke, a tiny turnout compared to the big ones in 2007 which failed in the Amnesty that year.
The pro-illegal alien lobby is desperate to get an amnesty early in 2010 because as we get deeper into 2010 and during the midterms congress will not touch this very unpopular measure(75% of the voters nationwide oppose amnesty and want strong border measures). The pro illegal alien lobby groups are loud(though numerically in a tiny minority) and amply funded by the greedy immigration rights lawyers, a scam group. However, 10's of millions of US patriotic citizens will be galvanized/angered by any push for amnesty especially in a severe economic depression with 17-20 % Real U-6 UE rates.
The amnesty forces are deluded if they think Obama and congress will pass any amnesty this year. Half of the country did not vote for him and this half will hammer washington with e-mail, faxes,and angry phone calls.

I still worry that enough Dems will fall on their swords to pass this. The Dems would lose a lot in 2010 but just about lock up future control of Congress. NY states corrupt political style would become NATIONAL!

Don't worry Rat, an amnesty attempt at this time would precipitate such a backlash from Americans that it would make the DC Tea Party look like a Sunday school gathering. We don't have to take it and we won't!! It would spell the end of this country and our lives would never be the same.
