Obama's Kenyan relatives cheer win
November 5, 2008 - 3:42PM
Barack Obama's Kenyan family erupted in cheers, singing "We are going to the White House!" as Obama became the first African American elected president in the United States.
In the western village of Kogelo, where the Democratic candidate's late father was born, police had tightened security to prevent hordes of media and others from entering the rural homestead of Obama's step-grandmother, Sarah.
But the elderly woman and several other relatives came outside to cheer for Obama in a country where the Democrat is seen as a "son of the soil".
Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki called Obama's victory a "momentous" day for Kenya.
He declared Thursday a public holiday for Kenyans to "celebrate the historic achievement by Senator Obama and our country".
"This is a momentous day not only in the history of the United States of America, but also for us in Kenya. The victory of Senator Obama is our own victory because of his roots here in Kenya. As a country, we are full of pride for his success," Kibaki said in a statement.
"We the Kenyan people are immensely proud of your Kenyan roots. Your victory is not only an inspiration to millions of people all over the world, but it has special resonance with us here in Kenya," Kibaki said in a message to Obama.
"I am confident that your presidency shall herald a new chapter of dialogue between the American people and the world at large."(quote)

THEY are going to the White House?
Hmmmmm.........that statement may be more portentious than many think especially since it would appear that a Kenyan has seized control of the government.

What the HELL does he mean by that if Obama is, as he claims, an American citizen?Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Obama wasn't aware his aunt was living "illegally" in the U.S...having back surgery and rehab....being supported by U.S. taxpayers....and a half-brother in Kenya living in a hut on $1 a month....so what makes the president of Kenya think they are going to be invited to the WH now??? Wonder if Obama will now go back on his word when he said he would "follow the law" and have his aunt deported?? Guess Kenya will also be expecting more foreign aid now that their "favorite son" will be in charge of the U.S. purse strings.

Keep in mind Africa is loaded with natural resources. They can dance and jump all they want, as long as they jump off of that mineral rock.
We will exchange Africans for UN troops.
Commies don't sit around on their hands, there is a whole world out there.

Barack Obama's Kenyan family celebrate victory
Relatives stay awake all night to watch US election on generator-powered TV sets

They streamed out of Mama Sarah's compound, dancing and singing loudly in the local Luo language: "We are going to Obama, we are going to the White House."
It was 7am in Kenya, and CNN had just called the US election for Barack Obama.
Sarah Obama, his 86-year-old grandmother, beamed as she hugged relatives, who were jumping up and down with joy.
Many of them had stayed awake all night to watch the results on generator-powered televisions in the tiny village of Kogelo in western Kenya. They believed their man would win but were still fearful something could go wrong.
By dawn any lingering apprehension had disappeared. There were cheers when it was announced that Obama had won Ohio and Pennsylvania. George Obama, the youngest sibling of the US president-elect, said: "I think my brother is going to be the next president."
Outside the house of Barack Obama Sr, who was born in Kogelo and is buried here next to Mama Sarah's home, a woman shrieked when she heard the CNN announcement: "Barry has won! Barry has won!" A new song broke out: "Obama is coming, Bush can you pave the way?"
Biosa Obama, 39, who is married to Obama's half-brother Bernard, said she had fallen asleep at 3am, only to be woken by excited family members two hours later. "I can't believe this has come true. It's going to be so good for the world."
There was also jubilation elsewhere in Kenya, which claims Obama as its own son. Hotel bars in Mombasa stayed open through the night so guests could watch the results come in, while in the slums of Nairobi there were raucous celebrations even before Obama's victory was certain.
Describing the result as momentous, the Kenyan president, Mwai Kibaki, declared Thursday a public holiday.
At the village dispensary in Kogelo, where hundreds of people sat through the night watching the news on a large outdoor screen erected by a local television company, a pastor thanked God for the Obama win before a church band began playing and local residents streamed into the compound waving branches and singing.
At Mama Sarah's house, which is being guarded by policeman due to the extreme media interest, a huge party was expected after a family press conference later in the morning.
Several cows and dozens of chickens are due to be cooked for the relatives staying on the property, some of whom have flown in from the UK and US.

Things for us all to to consider
I guess we Americans can expect to be paying for the Kampala Mombasa Railway.
Polygamy is common, the Kenya marriage ceremony still reads do you take this woman to be your firs and principal wife.I support enforcement and see its lack as bad for the 3rd World as well. Remittances are now mostly spent on consumption not production assets. Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
