Maybe Obama did not hear that particular sermon, but he has been a member of Wright's church for twenty years. Other members of the church were very comfortable with Wright's hateful sermon which sounds more like a cult than the teachings of Jesus. Wright certainly was not teaching the same Bible I read. Obama now calls the congregation his "former church". He is a liar who will not stand up publically for what he believes in.

As far as I know, Obama was not campaigning for President in 2001, so I don't think he was too busy with his campaign in 2001. mirse

Forget that one Sermon...Take a look at the Church's Mission Statement and Laws.
If BO does not know what this Church is about, why does he give them so much money? Does this Church's membership give BO money?
This "Church" has a well deserved reputation for being fanatical. He is a major player in this church.
I call BS on one more Barack Obama "Memory" Loss.
The Media "Spin" on this crap is amazing.

.
Myself, I agree that the pastor has the right of free speech, sometihing that many television commentators agree on.
1. But the pastor is not the one who is running for President.
2. For me, my problem with Obama is not what church he attends.
3. If Obama was not running for President, I could care less about what church he attends, because I don't live in Illinois. He is not my senator.
4. My problem with Obama's hard-to-believe explanations about his relationship with his pastor is this: Can I trust him when he talks to me about such topics as health care and the Iraqi war, when he
is not telling us the truth about his relationship with his pastor over the past 20 years.
5. Again, I could care less about the pastor's hate-filled speech, because he is not the one asking me to vote for him for President of the United States, or the one saying that he would be an effective commander-in-chief.
6. As I said earlier, the pastor has the right of free speech like every other American citizen.
7. When I vote for a person running for office, I expect that, at the very least, I can trust him when he looks me in the eye and tells me sometihing, That is, I would like to feel that, for the most part, I can trust what he tells me.
8. Obama, I'm sorry, I have trouble believing that over a 20 year period, you had no idea---until 2008---that your pastor gave hate-filled sermons over and over again duriing that 20 year period, so I am having trouble trusting what you say when talk about CHANGE in America.
9. Obama, you recently claimed that you were not in the church pew when the pastor gave his hate-filled sermons against the United States and white people over the past twenty years, but I have great difficulty believing that you did not read about the pastor in your local papers or listen to commentary about the pastor on the television over those 20 years.
10. I also have difficulty believing that you did not discuss such hate-filled sermons with people like your wife and fellow church members over that same 20 year period.
11. So, Obama: What did you know and when did you know it, when it comes to the first time you learned about your pastor's hate-filled sermons against the United States and white people? Was it 2008, or earlier?
